    Four inches LOL. Where my nephew in Japan lives thye have about one or two meters for three months of the year. This country would be totally buggered to hell if we had another  1947 or 1963.

    Liebherr do make good kit. A lot of ships had their cranes.

    Yes just before fax i think ,pretty old but reliable method of transmitting text through wires onto paper it was in about 1968 ish 

    You know that the fax was invented before the telephone? When I was at sea telex was still used. Unlike a fax telex is secure. You could not "spoof" a telex machine.Easy to send you a fax from a different address than you expect it to come from.

    TELEX is not quite dead yet.

    Can you see that happening in real life? And then the offspring buggers off for 30 years ,not a word ,no post cards nothing ,makes it !ook like hes buggered off to his real dads family ,whers social services here? And where did a mere carpenter who couldnt even treat his pregnant wife to a 2 shekel hotel room afford to bribe herod to kill all the other children so "his' kid could learn to ride the only donkey out of town the next morning to get shot of him?

    Then he turns up out of the blue ordering fishermen about ,beating up money lenders and touching people then mouthing off in the street my dad this, my dad that ! And his catering skills were non existant 5 fricking loaves and two fish from some unknown boy caterer to feed 5000 there would have been a riot! And a visit from the health department about the lack of  colour coded chopping boards! ,no wonder the Romans get cross (and give it to him)

    I smell a conspiracy here! Its as if the church was making stuff up so they can boss people about and get money to build nice gaffs and get fat off the back of the poor for a couple of thousand years ! Hmmmm

    turning this into a positive is tough.  For a long time I've been meaning to post this "suggestion"

    With The Associated Press I find close to zero opinion bias and reasonably clear news journalism. 

    Wall Street Journal - (financial news) [plenty of opinions but about equal Amount of black space to all sides]

    Nothing more than I like them and feel as though what I read is unbiased NEWS and the news they publish is trustworthy

    I have AP and Reuters on my bookmarks. When I worked with big banks we had reuters news feeds on our desktops.

    When I had my wee flat in France the mother in law gave me the fridge freezer she got as a wedding present. My daughter only threw it out a year or two ago. It was more than 50 years old. It was a Frigidaire. I don't know where it was made.
