  1. Pendle View near Clitheroe there is a syndicate called fellview up in the hills near billsborrow check out fellview.hagz.me.uk
  2. my mate fishes shearwater and reckons the method is awesome on there and is often taken on the drop when on the fish. try a vitalin mix as for boilies most things work especially Hutchinson monster crab (works for him anyway)
  3. forgive me if i am wrong but i thought the rogue rods were made by wychwood and not shakespeare unless they are both one and the same??
  4. the only real advantage of mono over braid that i can think of is thet mono is less likely to be seen by the fish as the water is often a lot clearer in the winter. flourocarbon would be my choice for the winter fiddly but worth it.
  5. yep i understand what your saying it's just that the antidote is a lot newer than the medusa hence i suspect slightly more upto date so thanks for your input maver cos it was taken into consideration in my decision and there is still time to change my mind thanks
  6. i just spoke to my local tackle dealer who knows a thing or two about poles and always stocks a good selection of poles he let me try the medusa out in his yard (a big yard) alongside the garbolino antidote. there is about 50 to 100 quid difference in preice but with the antidote you get an extra topkit. he also informed me that the medusa is to be discontinued later this year after a longer than normal production run (testament to the quality of the pole) and as the antidote is a new pole i have sided with the garbolino pole i haven't bought it yet but aim to as soon as i can knock the price down at my local shop. so thanks for your advice and if you can see any good reasons why i shouldn't buy the garbolino and still buy the medusa let me know.
  7. well have spoken to a few pole anglers who use much more expensive eqpt like daiwa whisker and spectron poles most of which had a lot of good things to say about the medusa so it looks like my choice has been made for me many thanks even if the thread did go a bit off topic blankedagain??
  8. quote: thats just cheap tat expensive is the Preston Innovations Lerc Essence RS 100 16m pole (rrp £3,499) I,m sorry I'll say that again three thousand, four hundred and ninety nine pounds if you think that is expensive what about the DAIWA Tournament 710 that retails for 7500 pounds yes i said seven thousand and five hundred. the point is that i am not richard branson so 650 quid is a lot of money to me if you have nothing constructive to say don't bother. and thanks the rest of you for your advice i will lookinto those options
  9. well i just used my new middy works pole for the first time and loved it but at 11m it was too short and a bit too droopy to fish the venues near me. so guess what i am after a new pole i was looking at the MAVER MEDUSA 2 a bit expensive (i have seen it for 645 quid) but was just after some advice on other options or what people think of the medusa.
