  1. Has anyone got any info about this particular lake. What,s the going method?or main species to target. Cheers DJB
  2. I was fishing my local stretch of the river wey near the thames the other day and my mate caught an 8oz crab, we presume it was a mitten. It was the size of a saucer and had hooks on each elbow and above the claws. It has been reported to the EA but it is the first one I have ever seen.Has anyone else had this experience. Funny enough I caught 2 9lb+ barbel using paste flavoured with monster crab.DJB
  3. You are right there are some good mullet in portugal,I never bothered with the ones on top of the water, i used a two hook paternoster with chunks of sardine and had fish to nearly 4lb.another good groundbait was cheap sardines and coarse salt,1kg of mashed sardines to 2 kg rock salt which is cheap and you can really make a solid ball.good luck David
  4. Dave,I used to live in Portugal and fish a lot off the rocks.Madeira is similar with almost only rock fishing.Try float fishing with a shrimp in between the rocks for bream or try a slice of makerel fished a full depth on the float or a lead.there are a lot of strange species to be had like that.if you are self catering the bream are good on the barby.also try clams or fresh mussels on the float. If you find some good rocks with mussels take a bucket half fill it mussels and crush them with a rock for groundbait.happy fishing DJB
  5. Can anybody suggest any websites where I can obtain float making materials and some techniques. cheers djb
