  1. As title I'm looking for a stradic x gtm in good condition. Thanks
  2. Just testing the water really as I'm thinking of parting with my big pits. I have 2 Daiwa Emblem Excelers(look like entohs but with a normal looking folding handle rather than the machined one), they are like brand new with the box, instructions & unused spare spools. I also have 3 QD drag knobs that I would let go with them. I have had them since february time ( I purchased them new) and have used them for 1 day session as I have not had the time to fish since moving house so cannot warrant having them sitting around. I was thinking around £200 posted including the extra drag knobs, does that seem a fair deal? I may budge on price though. The rrp on these was £235 each although I didn't pay that hence me letting them go cheaper. Any takers? I can supply pics etc on request. Just a note I'm not currently selling the reels and QD drag knobs seperately incase I get any requests.
  3. Nope just 12lb big game. Had a chat with someone last night which may give some clues to this problem. It doesn't happen on the normal lake I fish, it happened the first trip out on a lake I hadn't fished before. He asked if the lake is silty. As fish that feed in silt tend to have softer mouths. Well the lake in question is very heavily silted in some parts..
  4. 3lb Ballista slims but they come up soft so basically 2.75lb. I have noticed it a lot more since stepping up from 2.5’s but I have been playing the fish a lot more carefully because of this. I’m not one for bullying fish in. The reason the rods were replaced is that my old ones were years old and had gone soft, I fish with pva bags and occasionally fish the method so casting was becoming a bit of a lottery. I have now stopped using reflex and am using mantis as I feel its safer but I have more confidence in supple braids so would like to find a compromise [ 22. 5. I currently use fox reflex braid in 12lb to good effect. I’m concerned of late though as the fish have been suffering mouth damage as its cutting in during the fight. Would hopping up breaking strain cure this as it wouldn't be so thin? Or should I swap hook link material altogether to maybe a coated braid which should cause less damage? Although by doing this the rig would behave differently wouldn’t it as it would be stiffer? I would prefer to stay with a supple hooklength.
  6. on chris plumbs post there is a link..they are offering it on dvd there You can only get caught in time on dvd not passion
  7. Im not sure about the top weigh but a think they go from a couple of pounds upwards
  8. Im fishing a local stillwater at the weekend and it has been stocked with Barbel. I was thinking along the line of a scaled down carp set up for them using lighter leds and pva meshed bags with corn and pellets and corn on a hair rig. Would this be ideal or what approach would you use?
  9. Hoping someone can help. I am looking for someone who has a broken JRC Terry Hearn classic chair that could sell me the metal tubing that makes up the back rest. Its the older style as its a couple of years old. I took it on a camping weekend that we run for under privaledged kids and 3 of my fat mates sat on it in one go and bent it like a goodun! I have spoken to JRC and they do not have any of the old styles ones left and the new ones are a different size
  10. I had a wander round it years ago, isnt it very weedy?
  11. Im not sure whats happening down there now but It has signs outside it advertising day tickets?
  12. Ive been off the scene for a while but will be returning shortly, I need to refill my reels, Ideally with around 12-14lb line. Are there any new wonder lines I should consider? Or should I stick with what I know? (reels currently have infinity duo on but have used suffix synergy to good effect to)
  13. I will be fishing a local commercial carp fishery tomorrow. will start of on a float set up, what breaking strain line would people recommend using as I have never fished such a venue before. Average size of fish is ment to be between 4-12lb. [ 26. September 2003, 10:19 AM: Message edited by: Rich si ]

  15. I have spent the summer fishing a lovely local club lake for carp and tench but this mornings cold weather has triggered a "Im want to fish a river this weekend responce in me" Can anyone suggest a nice location for a spot of pleasure fishing in the Herts or Essex area please. Im from Harlow so would ideally not want to travel anymore than 45mins to an hour to get there. Thanks in advance.
