  2. A new site has been launched ffor all anglers based in the teesside area(and other areas). Its a place to talk and discuss ventures and organise trips out. Give it a look. http://www.anglerscabin.co.uk
  3. you mean horseshoe lakes at whitton? Aparently there are lakes being dug out actually in carlton village now ready for next season.
  4. The digi cam for me,to prove to the lads just how big that fish was,or if it wasnt i can say the batteries ran out>
  5. yup, never thought of that, god, its all about the money isnt it.
  6. Rite, what would happen if the uk carp record was broken again??Front page on all mags. The barbel record goes and anglers mail decide a picture of an average carp deserves front page gory. Why??Angling times went all out on it.
  7. we arent interested in letting others fish the water. We just want our own water to stock and fish, letting the syndicate slowly grow with fully approved members.
  8. A few of us are thinking about forming a sindicate with a view of finding a lake to either co own or own. Has anyone else done this,if so,how do you go after this? Also,is there a hierachy in a sindicate? If so,isnt that just a club? So many questions that need answering.Need help.Cheers.
  9. i recentlt purchased a penrose 3draw combi box and i was considering getting the pupss for it. Does anyone run the system now?Is it worth the money?
  10. is anybody interested in booking a match on horseshoe lake at whitton. Its fishing well at all pegs due to a massive 10000 strong stocking program. Not sure of dates and numbers yet as it is just speculation. £5 peg fee and a 5 or 10 sweep.Possible sections if we get enough entries,if not just one section winner gets 50% 2nd 25% 3rd gets 15% and last man get 10%.So if we get 10 entries winner gets 50 quid etc etc etc,you do the maths lol.The more the merrier.First come first served. For more details contact me on shaun_emac@yahoo.co.uk Hurry, places limited
  11. good stuff lads,My local river doesnt see an angler unless its warm.I just thought it was a common thing to pack up for winter.
  12. Just a little poll to see how many people will be stopping fishing until the warmer months arrive again? The sport on my river is practacly non existant when it gets cold, but our ponds are ok when using maggots,so il be fishing on in the snow n rain.Who else will be?
  13. sorry lads,i wasnt trying to justify the rule i was just trying to think of an alternative to micro shot. The be all and end all is that tony blair licks euro ass,so if they say it goes,we cant say boo to it.So we may as well start using alternatives now if u ask me.
  14. I was fishing a pond on sunday which was dug out last year.It cant be more than 3/4 of an acre, probably less.It has just been stocked with 10000 carp to half a pound. Is this over stocked? It may be ok for now,but surely as the carp grow its gona get pretty crowded.
  15. bout 14 for me,stopped for 5 years then started again and cant put it down.
  16. Reading the angling times last week i was shocked to read that due to eu legeslation, the use of lead in splitshot and ledgers could soon be banned.Due to the cost and difficulty in making small shot in lead substitutes, micro shot could soon be a thing of the past.I was thinking, what could we use instead of micro shot.I would assume that styles are under that micro shot catagory so we might be seing the good old number 4 back down the bottom. Maybee we could use pre weighted floats and some type of line sinker,i spose it would work ina still water, but it wouldnt be much use in 7ft river where u want to get past the fry. What do you think?
  17. i was fishing a match today.Perfect conditions, sun out, slight ripple and a pond full of f1 and ghosties. The keepnets we were using was the fisheries own which i am told were dipped pre match. The winning weight of the match was 12lb4oz to my 5lb 11 oz which realy shocked me. What shocked me even more was when we fished on when the nets were out and i caught over 100 fish to 3lb. Could it be that the net dip was spooking or even putting fish off the feed? Going down the line i found every1 had the same effect. Has any1 else had this happen?
  18. i live in thornaby which is the next town on from stockton following the tees. I fish the tees regularly along its many free stretches as well as the lower tees amalgamation waters and the thornaby angling club waters. The obvious choice for a day tickit water in this area is woodlands at carton minniot. The nearest bagging pool is renny lake which is best fished when its warm.Go early cos it fills up quick. If you would like more details of areas to fish and which spots on the tees are better than others then drop me a message at shaun_emac@yahoo.co.uk and il b happy to fill u in.
  19. got a week off next week so im lookin for a good still water for some bream baggin. Fed up with all the carp pools so im lookin for a water with good bream roach perch etc. I live near middlesbrough so waters in or near teeside would be ideal.cheers
