  1. I have had the problem of being abused a my club lake by carp fisherman who did not like me sitting around the lake with a float rod fising for tench  and I was even told i cant use stalking tactics for carp! aparently if i haven't sat there for several days b4 i catch a fish it dosen't count Maybe it was a bit of envy cos i was catching a few of the pits bigger residents 20+ers on non hair riged freelined floating bait why do you get a small minority of thugs who try to drive you off the lake when you don't conform to the standard bivvy buzzers methods
  2. Shhhh dont tell everybody where the len is LOL ive been fishing it for about 20 years and hardley see any one else fishing, it must be getting more popular now, i suppose the removal of the trees dowstream of spot lane has made it a bit more accessable, you can use a rod biger than 6ft now i hope you all put the wild trout back it would be a shame if they all get took out, i think they breed in the river cos i have caught all sizes even tiny ones.
  3. I did hear a rumor that some barble were caught in the town between the bridges at maidstone too
  4. i must admit i have never used the power tops yet, only ever fish carp pools if we have a team match on one, it did deal with some carp on sunday at frant lakes with the normal match kits and a no6 elastic does your 16m extension fit properly mine seems to rattle about a bit not that i use it at 16m LOL
  5. well you get a top 3 or a power top 2 so the next section is the number 4, is usefull if i fish deeper venues i can more rigs set up
  6. howard it cost me £400 about 6 month ago, and come with 5 top 3's, 4 power top 2's , 3 spare no 4 sections, and a 16m extension, and spare 9m, 11.5 and 13m section i did break the no 5 section first time out with it and it cost me £70 to replace. the only trouble i have with it is the 16m extension dosen't seem to fit properly then again who want to wave around 16m of pole LOL I thought it was a good price
  7. i agree the medway does hold some big fish, you can single them out with bigger baits, corn, tares, hemp, bread, worms, all work well. Maggots are ok in the winter. try east farleigh weir for barbel, i have heard there are a few in there
  8. you are probably right rudd i think i will stick with the ones i have
  9. Take a look at the shakespear range of rods they have some really good models around £50ish as good as rods twice the price
  10. I think i may have changed my mind about changing it seems i would have to pay quite a lot of money to get one better
  11. Dennis almost forgot when you joke about sturgon you may well catch one down at spot lane try the pond a saw a young lad catch one about 2lb about 2 summers ago it might be still in there LOL
  12. if you want to catch the chub in the len the best time is when it is running a bit clearer and use a short rod and fish in the jungle swims even the smallest of deep holes holds some nice fish That bend swim upstream of spot lane has never been any good for chub i dont know why  there is some nice sized fish in the small weir pool though, cast as close as you dare to the far side reeds, the slack area towards the far bank Hope this helps your chub quest i havent fished alington for years am tempted to give it a go again, and them huge shoules of dace are still there
  13. Howard I am not sure i do want to change it i was just speculating if the newer models are much inproved (stiffer, lighter, stronger), or if they are just re labeled older models? I Have had no problens with the pole it is light stiff etc, I have broke sections but that was by acident and not while fishing with it. being a match pole i am a bit reluctant to use it for carp hauling in the summer and have a 3300 i use for that. So i was thinking i might possibly be better replacing the 2 poles with a good all round pole? Ian bass The arotex 8151 is 1080g at 14.5 meters and when they first come out i think they cost about £1500 , i didnt pay that i brought it secondhand
  14. I own a lerc aerotex 8151 Pole and was thinking of maybe updating it with a newer model  The question i am asking is are the new models much better, and would i have to spend a small fortune to get something better? So how does it compare to the latest poles? Are they stiffer, lighter etc? I am after some opinions?
  15. hi all i ordered stuff from them on 30th dec 3 emails later still nothing
