  1. Well I actually MET him on the bank on Sunday!! Taking the wife and kids for a walk along the Kennet he was fishing a stretch at Woolhampton. We talked of the fishing in general, cormarants and crayfish but I didn't get too political with him - how would you like it on your day off!!!

As I've said before he's my local MP and on the 2 or 3 occasions I've written to him (to have a whinge about local public transport usually) I've always had a prompt reply (& he got the CEO of Reading Buses to write to me).

  3. A primary school child announces to his teacher that he found a cat on the way to school.

"Was it dead or alive?" enquired the teacher?

"Oh, definitely dead" replies the little boy.

"How do you know?" responds the teach.

"Well I p1ssed in its ear and it didn't wake up"

"YOU WHAT!!" storms teacher, red with fury...

  5. Yup, looks like a signal - ruddy pests in my book. Blamed for a decline in silver/junior fish also for the growth in barbel and chub (in paricular).

However you can get a licence from the EA to trap them (least you can in the Thames Region). Whats more they're free!! Signals are good to eat (so my friend Paul tells me!) With your licence you get an indentification cahrt so as no to take naturals by mistake. Only requiremnet is for all non-indegenous to be killed!!!

So get a licence and get out there!!!

  7. Nick - I'd echo most of what's already been said - lovely pics - particularly like the seascapes and skyscapes that have no signs of human involvement..

Let us know when the calendar's ready - I'd be interested in one...
