  1. Or get a small rib, No mooring fees, just carry it to the water, there are loads of them fishing for bass under the cliffs along the sussex coast all through the summer. Had a couple of good days last month too. Regards Nick
  2. Thanks very much Spasor & Newt, I will have a look for one. 15lb braid will do nicely. As for the misprint 2.5mtr, You are absolutly right. Its actually a 2.8mtr (Avon 280 Rib with a whopping 4hp motor) it.s very portable. Some anglers have commented on the danger of hooks. But on the up side it is very rocky in front of the cliffs, and with the avon rib it still floats if you puncture one side, Am I crazy? thanks the rod tip. regards Nick
  3. A rod please, to suit fishing from a 2.5 metre boat close to the shore for fish that feed over the rocks, around Seaford and Newhaven in East Sussex. Popular methods include light ledger, livebait, float and lures. I like braided main lines and would prefer to use an Abu 6501 baitcaster reel. Can any of you experienced sea anglers suggest the perfect rod, something sensitive yet tough enough. I would also appreciate knowing which weight braid I should use.
  4. I have fished for mullet in spring and summer. best results came at lewes in east sussex, on the tidal stretch, about seven mles inland. I fished using a light ledger with two hook lengths top and bottom like flat fish rigs. Rag worm worked well, I cast from the bank between the concrete pillars on a bridge. The surface is mud and chalk rocks, the mullet bite best an hour before and after high tide. great fun with light tackle, I started using carp gear.
  5. Are there any disadvantages to use braid with a multiplier.

  7. Are there any friendly stores in the states that ship ABU tackle to the UK, I have noticed reels are pounds for dollars. I did it once before bit the shipping and import tax soured the deal considerably.
  8. I am looking to buy some new kit, for shallow water sea fishing, from an inflatable, using light tackle. I want a good multiplier to match a new 8 to 9 foot lure and baitcasting rod. Something like a whopper stopper. Advice most welcome?
