I assume this is a job on the side and not your regular work!!.If that is the case you will have to be competative.Would assume that a pro would charge around £80/£100 per day as ajp say's,depending on area.Just bear in mind its easy to underestimate any job;I'm self employed(gardener),and have been at it for a good number of years, but still get it wrong from time to time  .

Peter, silly question-----Cos they are easier to catch .
No really, I suppose it depends on venue and what that has to offer;not all venues have a good head of quality fish,or even it it has, they
dont always play ball,so guess the smaller fish are targeted. Not my cup of tea(match fishing),but each to his own.

Hi Boozlebear.Im a south londoner,so dont know north london that well. How about Walthamstow Reservoirs at Tottenham, assume they are open during the close season.Would imagine they are on main bus or rail links from your area. There is also the Copper mill stream that runs through the complex, although it would be closed until June 16th.

Ridgeacre, thanks. You are spoiled for fishing up there, pools everywhere .Have fished Kings Nordley a few times, also Poole Hall.Think BAA is the answer,Found thier site and printed off the maps of the river at Quatford/Knowle Sandsand Hampton Load.
Thanks again,Chuby
P.S The BAA ticket has to be the best value season ticket going.

Budgie,i had similar experience a good few years ago.Used to trout fish at Barn Elms Reservoir,in Hammersmith.Turned up and started fishing, shortly afterwards a stack of fish were introduced and BINGO,everyone was catching,Fly,worm, spinning it made no odds.If i recall,i went slightly over my limit .

Judy,Sounds as though you may have been getting bites from the roach, rather than the carp or tench.Roach can be very hard to hit on the lead, they can eject the bait double quick!!,although that is not always the case. However if there is a big stock of carp in the lake, you may be getting liners,ie the fish brushing against the line, giving false indications on the tip.If you suspect they are carp, sit on your hands and wait until the tip pulls round and stays there,by then the fish will be on.Without actually seeing the type of bite it is hard to generalise.Another method you could try(ledgering) is the sidewinder, which I feel is a lot more sensitive than the tip anyway. It is made by the polaris float makers, and consists of a clip on arm that sits above the rod handle. We use them when bream fishing in Ireland when its very windy and thy are great.Phew!!! you are probably even more confused now

Anyone out there have any info on fishing in the Bridgenorth area!!(having a week up there in July),particularly the Severn,ie availability of day tickets and access to the river. Also any info on stillwaters in the area would be very usefull. We have fished as far up as Highley and around Arley and Bewdley, but never around Bridgenorth.Any help would be most welcome.
Thanks,Chuby.

Just to pick up on Ken L's reply. We have just returned from Goa(india),and have brought back leaflets from a shop out there. You can browse and order online and even with shipping, glasses are far cheaper.I for one will be trying it out when I need to renew mine.I use Specsavers, and to be honest they are not over expensive, and have had a second pair of sunglasses FOC,but the quality of the frames are not that good.

Hi Judy.Does your leger rod consist of only quiver tips or does it also have an avon type tip!!.If it has an avon type tip, then no problem,if only quiver tips, then i would suggest using the thickest tip you have available, just from the point of view of ease of casting. As for floats,it is hard to generalise,Wagglers and antenna floats of various sizes should see you through, but use one capable of casting easily,ie dont struggle to cast out a very light float, better a bigger float, correctly shotted.
