yes smudger, precisely because of the livebaiting stance.

whilst i am sure that it was his own personal viewpoint, as the press officer for the ACA he should have been aware that it would have been construed as representative of the organisation for which he held office.

that to a point shows a naievity that is a bit difficult to align with his position of ACA press officer.

as you said it was his personal veiw and i

believe it said it was.it was those narrow minded people that took otherwise..and yes i am a pike

    angler

  2. trent barbler quAny chance of getting a road tax rebate of old Tony I wonder???

Thought not. 4X4 er's stumping up for normal road users yet again.

    Regards,

    Lee.

if your daft enough to pay road tax and soley drive off road that your problem what sort of bloke are you?..oh yeah remember the two off roadie's on the "fast show".oh if you vote for your local mp you ARE voting for HIS party

you vote him you vote them in thats how it work's

first past the post it's called...vince

    Dave Lumb:

Surely the fact that Bob James is a world famous personality and that if his name is attatched to any appeal, information or press release has immediate responce has been overlooked by the ACA committee. By their actions in the suspension they have lost a great deal of good will

I think you'll find that in the case predator anglers (like Mark Barrett and myself) the ACA has gained a lot of good will now Mr James is no longer associated with them........

Perhaps the ACA will find itself able to have a stand at the next year's PAC convention? It's a good few years since they showed up there after being regular attenders from year one. Perhaps Mr James was afraid of being lynched?

why dave! because of his stance on livebaiting?

that sort of narrow mindedness is what is keeping me out of PAC....should not some of the committee

who allowed this stiuation to develop also stand down.bob james was a employee of the ACA he got away with whatever he did get away with because

he allowed to by those same employer's

as i've said before the word's "barn door and horse" come to mind other heads need to roll

and without the pay off's the jame's got

true but the footprint of the trye is a lot bigger and therefore cause's more damage to the roads

Larger footprint causing more damage??? How?

Assume you have a smaller car at oh, say 4000 lbs GVW and a 4x4 at 8000 lbs.

Assume the tire footprint of the larger 4x4 tires puts 3 times the tire area on the road at a time (although it is probably more like 6-8 times).

The load per square inch on the pavment will be somewhat less with the heavier 4x4 than with the smaller auto and for road surfaces, that is the key.

So the statement that the 4x4 causes more damage to roads due to larger tires is ... well lets just say it is not an accurate statement.

so a lorry with a even bigger tyre footprint

will not cause damage to the road contrary

to the evidence of our road system

  5. trent barbler quote "Tory MP comes around on foot being presented with braces of pheasant and wedges of stilton cheese. And the chap actually does great things for his constituents AND tells the truth"

    hahahahahahahahh..lololol

tory telling the truth that's a goood one

    trent barbler quote

"i used to be staunchly labour for nearly all my working life, but not now. I don't, can't, won't, support anything that seeks to take away personal freedoms and liberty."

but you be happy to vote for a party that took the jobs and liveilyhood of million's of people in the 80'

    and finally

"You see, most 4x4s take up no more road space than any other vehicle."

true but the footprint of the trye is a lot bigger

and therefore cause's more damage to the roads

    ps fenboy

"A majority don't like it, so the minority that do lose their freedom to do what they want to do."

that's called democracy majority rules, be thankfull of it and for it alot of people die trying to get it....

  6. as someone who was going to join the ACA before this blew up, the letter is a good move.but it really states the things that should've been in place before this fiasco came to light, a bit like shuting the barn door after the horse has bolted (with a nice pay off )should not the ACA try and recover some of these expense's. i think i will wait 6 month's as some one had suggested.the key to a good orginization is good communication within and out side of the orginization something that has clearly been lacking at the ACA

  7. here.here.pete

snoty. meant to have put. one of the prime reason's and as to us having over estimated our importance to the C.A if we are not important to them why are they so keen to rope us in with them

selves and keep on saying they are speaking up for anglers's. the only angler's they speak for are the salmon and trout water owner's who fear if angling is banned they will lose the hundred's of pounds a day they charge for a stretch of prime salmon water. they could'nt care less about the every day course anglers.it's all about money, those who have it want to keep making it.i don't want be associated with that or foxhunting

  8. BUDGIE

been saying and thinking the same as you for years now.i would like to know how my money is spent down south as well. i think you will find that down south the money is spent on trout and salmon water's would certainly lkie someone from the E.A to come on here and tell me where it's all spent and why can't the E.A dredge and clean river's and canal's up like they do up north saying all this though i have not seen this free mag this year but every time ido i know waht it's going to be north .north west north midland's etc ..

  9. i thought the art of angling was to outwit the fish in to taking your bait. muddy puddle catching can hardly be called that.fenboy is right there is more to fishing than catching fish ,and anybody who doe's not realise what that is not a angler

  10. jesus

who give's s*** if he smokes or not. i am more

worried about the music he has on his programmes

the electric guitar he's got playing when he's playing anything bigger than a minnow really get's to me i expect the camera to cut to him and see him giving the sound assistant one :D:D
