  1. Hi norrie the rod sounds ideal. just what i need to get started. Ive got a couple of reels from a boot sale. A Silstar FX 40 with a rear drag, a kingfisher 1000X and a shimano LX2000 for a fiver for all 3 ...cant be bad. i will see about the delivery.. the uptider is in 2 parts so it may be easier to send by dhl or similar. the reel number on ebay is 3668548171 its again used but in good nick. chat soon gary
  2. thanks for the advice. i will start collecting soon. I dont know what type of fish to go for but i want to do a bit of general fishing before i 'specialise' as a lot of people tend to do. thanks for the warm welcome...hope to see some of you soon gary
  3. hi norrie i am after a beginners coarse rod..nothing too flash because i am only just starting inland fishing. I have done my share of beach and boat but i am getting pee'ed off with blanking more and more. i will investigate the delivery problem. The 602 has the metal spool but its gone on ebay so i might be able to sell it there. gary
  4. hi i have a Fuji cygnus 9ft 8oz uptide rod for sale. Its got the FPS-24 reel seat, rubber grips and splits into 2 parts. it has been well used but is still in perfectly workable order. I dont want much for it but i would like to swap with a coarse fishing rod as i would like to try my hand at fresh water fishing. I also have a Garcia Mitchell '602 multiplier if anyone wants to do a deal. gary
  5. yes mate...i think its hollow fibre glass but not 100% sure. i havent got a digital camera so i cant send a photo but i will try to describe it to you. its got a rubber end cap, cork, then the reel fixing with ring and locking ring, then some more cork. the name as i read it is a matchmaster super nautilus. the logo is a union jack over an outline picture of a fish. it should have 5 rings and a tip wheel but is missing one of the rings (second one down.) yours for the price of a pint and postage. although how you post a 7' rod i dont know. hope this helps gary ps..from your home page i see your in scotland. too far to meet up i spose...hehehe
  6. hi peeps. I am new to this website and indeed i will be new to fishing, should i take it up. 36 years of age with only limited beach experience I would like to start inland fishing as a bad back stops me doing anything more strenuous. I have aquired some freshwater reels but i need some rods and tackle. Any advice on where i can get some inexpensive gear. I am on a limited budget(aren't we all) but would like to get started with the summer on its way. any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am in the Horndean area of portsmouth if there is anyone local to chat to or indeed go fishing with. look forward to a reply soon gaz
