  1. When me and mates fo to our local carp puddle, one of our favourite jokes is when a mate hooks into something with a bit of weight behind it, ring his mobile phone on a withheld number and watch him answer it. When he answers make the noise down the phone like pole elastic snapping.
  2. Another time i was pike fishing down on the severn. The stretch was tidal which i new nothing about! I was fishing with two buddys who had been there befor. When we bivied up they seem to set there bivies further back than me as i wanted to be near my rods, Any how...As night drawed in i got my head down for a bit only to be woken by both alarms going off on my rods. I jumped out of my bag into a foot deep of water. The tide had come in and i was in the middle of it all. Saved my rods and stuff. It was funy at the time and my mates could not stop laughing, Glynn.
  3. One of my favorites was when carp fishing on patshull. A fishing buddy of mine used to snore like nobodys buisness. So one night when he was asleep we lifted his home made bivy and turned it around so the door was at the rear. He never woke. We then went down to his rods and gave his alarms a good tug and sat back and watched as he was trying to find his way out of his bivy. I never laughed so much in all my life. Glynn
  4. Thanx for your help guys. Glynn.
  5. I know they are down there though as i sometime hook one or see them roll so location is ok. Im just wondering if they feed above, on or at the bottom of the ledge also what tactics and bait
  6. I fish a 10 acre lake with a very sharp drop off(ledge) about 12mt out. It goes from 8ft to 20ft ish. There are a lot of bream and od tench in this lake but mainly skimmers and good roach. I always fish rite on the ledge and try for the slabs but only manage to get the smaller skimmers. The od slab or large tench does turn up now and again. I know they are in there so how can i go about catching them without the smaller skimmers. Am i doing it rite by fishing the ledge. Float or feder results are the same. How would you guys attack it. Thanx Glynn.
  7. I looked at the first meadow this morn and fell in love with the stretch but this is fished more than the second meadow. I like the look of 11a. Whats it like down by the lillys just below and whats it like where the river narrows down by the bench swim. Aint been that far down yet, are 39 40 good. thanx
  8. Hi Judley. Yeah i am familiar wityh the pegging of this stretch. I been doing well on peg 10a for barbel but i like the look of pegs 12 to 16 as they are slow and deep. Where have you had the most mixed bag of fish. Thanx
  9. Thats how i fish now, But i know there are more than these two spieces of fish in here.
  10. Hi all. Its been a good few years since i fished the river but now im drawn back. The thing is i forgot everything i learnt. Im fishing the river severn at leighton and this is a very underfished stretch. I like a mixed bag of fish and i like to start at dawn and end at dusk. What is my best way of aproaching this river? I love to trot and put leger out at butty time. This strech has everything from fast glides to almost still stretches. Where can i start as i want a swim that will offer me sport all through the day. Help me guys. Thanx.
  11. Hi all. Firstly let me say hello to you all as im a new member. Can anybody remember a bait additive called "Crafty Catcher". It was around bout 1989-1990 i think, and was a free gift on the front of Anglers Mail in a sachet. It was also available for mail order for a while. It was in a yello sachet which you sprinkled on your bait and it stunk to high heven. It certanly was good in my experiance. Thanx Glynn
