  1. I'd go with the personal protection option. The viels that fit over a hat work both inside and outside the bivie and don't require any nasty chemicals.

DEET is very effective but if it will eat your glasses and watch strap, what's it going to do to fishing line ?

  2. I think it's great - and being 8000km away and never likely to hear the record, I would say that would'nt I.

The popstars and popidols programs have lifted the lid on manufactured bands and made it ovious just how little talent these folks have.

Even my 12 year old sister now realises that the whole Heresay thing was manufactured.

There is now every possibility that we're about to see another explosion of real bands playing real music as even the kids turn their backs on Mr Waterman and $hit factory.

  4. After much messing about (during which time I've become a distinctly rare visitor here) I've finally finalised my house sale and have now arrived in India.

I'm currently in Bombay and will be heading south towards Goa in the next day or so.

Inevitably, I couldn't help packing not one but two rods and the proxinity of Goa to the fabled Mahrseer fishing on the Krishna river has not gone unnoticed.

Does anybody have any experience of booking a guide and access to the river independently ?

If so, any information that you can let me have about the cost and the best towns to get to to make the arrangements would be greatly appreciated.

Any other information about the fishinf on the west and south coasts of India would also be most welcome.

    Thanks Guys.

BTW I realise that there may be some disinsentive to provide information is you've got mates who run holliday companies. Anything recieved by e-mail will go no further.
