  1. I suppose its down to individual preferences but my experience of this site has always been one where it doesnt seem to matter what is posted there are a group of regulars who want to bring up stuff which is local, personal and downright boring. They also seem to want to attack people too For example I remember one poor guy who dared to post pictures and reports of some Bass he and his mates had caught off Dover I think and you really would have thought he had been caught kiddy fiddling or something from the reaction he received. You cannot educate people through violence and thats what it amounted to. Log on to catch a catch report and before too long you run into some hijacking. It seems to me that the group who are responsible seem to intimidate the angler who wants to share his news about catches and so on. To put it in a nutshell its just not a friendly site and I have found I hesitate to post because of it. I agree with the fact that some of the stuff discussed is important and I do want to read about it. The lack of Cod is worrying both for the sport and the for the economy. The attitudes of some anglers towards killing undersize fish is of great concern to me especially when the public see it and with other sports being threatened by groups who would ban all forms of sport which involves animals of any sort. But please keep these posts Honest. Start them yourselves if you think you have a point you want to make and I will defend your right to do so with the last breath in my body. But please keep away from honest posters who just want to know if a particular venue is fishing or not or want to share their news with others. Elton, its up to you but I'm not much of a one for cliques and heavy politics. I would move away from it in a pub and there are certainly other sites about to enable me to do that here. On Google, Define:buttonhole
  2. I'm not saying I agree with whats going on, just that human nature will take over with the need to survive in business. Lets face it this issue has been going on for years now, I stopped fishing in the early ninties when it seemed that the seas were empty and now I am back I fully expected that thinngs would have changed but as with most things that require effective action ie global warming, pollution there is a complete unwillingness for any government to grasp what is a rather uncomfortable nettle. add to this the predatory nature of the big supermarkets and their constant fight to get materials cheaper and cheaper and there is a recipe for disaster
  3. I suspect that there are abuses of quotas and such going on all the time but sometimes you cant exactly blame fishermen for these abuses if they face their business going down the tubes, survival brings out the worst in people. I am a haulage contractor and we are legislated almost out of existance and face all sorts of price rises. we have to cut corners in order to survive and i suspect this is the same with the fishing industry
  4. I understand they are at most big supermarkets like tescos ,anyone with a fresh fish counter really
  5. Hi Norm thanks for the post, yes I,m really exited at the prospect. I gave up when i moved to peterborough from redcar and to be frank the fishing in the early nineties was getting really pants(just bait drowning trips really!!!) Have you used these prawns before, What do you think
