  1. I just got a reply - Marine protected areas are a key tool to protect vulnerable marine ecosystems and have a part to play in fisheries management. Defra is currently preparing regulations to extend the Habitats and Birds Directives offshore. This will provide for the designation of sites for species of European importance. We have already identified the Darwin Mounds as a candidate site and, through the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), the EU has introduced measures to protect the site from damaging fishing activities. blah blah blah
  2. Thanks for the warning, It's unbelievable how its legal and BT are powerless to stop it They should foot the bill for everybody who gets suckered if your with BT.
  3. Just recieved the manual Norrie, all nice and clear, thanks very much
  4. Right, seems i may have misjudged the gap, have put the rod together a few times etc and gap stays at 1.5cm which is about 1/2 inch so i take it thats correct and how it should be Honestly didnt realise it was not supposed to go right in, thank god there was no sandpaper etc in my tool box earlier! Thanks for the help. [ 02. December 2004, 08:38 PM: Message edited by: Ernie Eels ]
  5. Thanks very very much for going to the trouble of scanning it for me, its really appreciated, email addy is smasher@dsl.pipex.com if its possible to send it whenever you have the time
  6. Im getting a bit confused now, right when i go to put the rod together it wont go all the way in, there's about 1-2inch of the joint showing, is this correct or should it go all the way in? cheers!
  7. omg, are you saying its not supposed to go all the way in, i feel an idiot if thats true, none of the rods ive got/had had the same type joint so its all new to me.
  8. Ended up buying a cheap fixed spool odessa but did get what i believe to be a decent multi for my longbeam (daiwa 7ht), with regards to the rod though im having murder putting it together and taking it apart, its really stiff, near enough impossible to put it right in, any tips? Roll on "its the same for me in the bedroom gags" etc.
  9. Is there anybody kind enough to scan me their instructions etc if there is such a thing that came with a daiwa 7ht or give me a link to them. Reason why is that im pretty new to multi's etc and ive just managed to get myself a new unboxed 7ht that came with some bits in a bag, aint got a clue what they are for, was some copper circle things, little plastic bits, spanner etc. I dont even know where the daiwa reel oil is supposed to go that came with it. So some instructions would be good. Thanks in advance for any help
  10. tack4 - How about you give me your golf equipment so you dont have to worry about the green fees and then I dont have to worry about buying a new rod, coz ive got a new sport to take up instead. Problem solved
  11. Forget the Abu & Penn get yourself a crab line. Damn im screwing up my own thread. Ah sod it, all them rods catch Fish, im just gonna print some pics and get the Wife who knows nothing about fishing to pick me 1 [ 30. November 2004, 07:10 PM: Message edited by: Ernie Eels ]
  12. I actually have a longbeam already, multiplier version, I have probs casting decently with it but I put that down to the cheapy firewolf 27h multiplier that came with it, it could be just me though so i'd prefer to have a fixed spool as my 2nd rod, I will invest in a decent multiplier reel though and give it a go. Although I think the Longbeam is a good rod I am a novice and the only thing I can compare it with is my other rod which im looking to replace hence this post, which is an old £20 Shakespeare mustang broomhandle that was given to me and now has 1/2 the top eye missing as well, lol. Hardly much of a comparison for the Longbeam so I posted in case there is a better rod in my price range before buying a fixed spool version of the Longbeam. [ 30.
