  1. Funny that Peter! Everybody else please look at FM and note the time and date stamp on my post. Copycat or coincidence?! [ 28. November 2004, 10:15 PM: Message edited by: Steve King ]
  2. Peter, you didn't happen to half inch that from my posting on Fishing Magic by any chance?
  3. I was given a Suveran as a Christmas present a few years ago. Mine has been totally reliable and a pleasure to use. In fact I like the reel so much that I bought another recently. If you look around there are still a few in the shops - Ashpoles of Islington had a one new S2000M and a 2nd hand S3000M a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn't use a Suveran when using a feeder with groundbait as the drag could get clogged up. I reckon they're the dog's doo dahs for legering for barbel and spinning for pike. ABU is part of Pure Fishing along with Mitchell etc
  4. Very sad, but not surprising. Intrepid reels were never very exciting and the rump of Intrepid i.e British Fly Reels didn't didn't invest that much in R & D. Even worse perhaps is the news that ABU are now assembling Ambassaduer multiplier reels in Taiwan from Swedish parts, a good source claims that the production of parts will be transferred very shortly too... It wasn't that long ago that ABU were in the frame for producing one of the best fixed spool reels ever in the Suveran. Production of the Suveran ceased last year and all ABU fixed spool reels are now made in China.
  5. If anyone has information regarding a missing million pounds it's not a matter for this forum - it is a criminal matter and should be reported to the police! I've worked for two organisations that like the ACA are governed by committees. In each of these organisations there is resentment by the committee of the paid staff and vice versa. Communications between staff and committee often leave much to be desired and I don't imagine the ACA is much different.
