  1. A subject that seems to strike fear into the Piking newcomer is the thought of unhooking a Pike.

With this in mind the P.A.A.S have now got 3 video clips showing unhooking and how to safely return a Pike.

The videos can be found in the 'Pike' section of the site, they are large files and depending on conection may take up to 5 mins to download, we are still working on them to compress them further.

The act of unhooking is hard to explain to a novice but very easy if you can show him how its done, The PAAS hope that these videos will help many newcomers to Pike fishing to grasp the basics so if you know anyone new to Pike fishing please point them in the direction of the PAAS website, www.esoxecosse.com

  2. Funny you should mention the knife, he aledgedly spend 2 days using it to try to chip away at the rock, and according to a newspaper interview the knife has yet to be seen by anyone.

Smells a bit funny to me.

  3. What is everyone opinion on the climber that cut his own arm off to save himself?

Is he a very brave man? Or is he making it up?

To me something just doesnt ring true about it, but I could be wrong.

    Opinions please.

  5. I might be wrong butyour question was a bit difficult to understand.

When groundbaiting I would take into account the species and number of fish im likely to catch.

If you are fishing a water where a good day is 2-3lb of small Roach then a small heap to concentrate them into that area works best, but if you days fishing is likely to produce 50lb of Bream then the groundbait needs to be spread over a larger area, 50 lb of Bream wont fit into a small area.

Theidea is to attract the fish into the area where your baited hook is and your hookbait should be the most attractive thing in amongst the groundbait. If you put a full tin of sweetcorn into a swim and then fished 1 bit of corn on the hook then your chances of that beingpicked up are small, if it had a worm/maggot on the hook as well then it becomes more likely.

No hard and fast rules and every day is different, hope this answers your question.

  6. You could start with a water bottle rocket, do a search on the net.

I looked at this a while ago for my kids but they lost interest before I got one built.

You will be surprised just how far you can get a 2l pop bottle up in the air.

If you have a self-timer on your camera, then it's no prob....just stick in on a wall or something similar nearby, hold-up that mega-specimen fish, smile at the lens and ... bingo!

    Get yourself one of these.

I got mine from Jessops, £6.99 six inches high and easy enough to carry in your tacklebox, it folds up and the top is adjustable and will point your camera in any direction you want.

  8. My girlfriend recieved a few dodgy calls on her mobile a few months back, the odd thing was it came up the number thatr called her was 141........ seems he was trying to hide his number cant understand why that came up, I reported it to the police (no use) and BT (no use) the number was for a city 200 miles away so to far to go and find him (we had, still have no idea who it was) there was only one thing left to do in my opinion.

I phoned him back, several times for a month but only when I was on nights and only after 3.00 in the morning.

  9. Thanks Chesters but I did say "now what software is going to be best for editing etc."

Very good software is seldom supplied with extra drives etc.

I got a very cut down (lite) version of Pinnacle Studio 7 with it. Is the full version any good or can anyone recomend anything else?
