  2. jeep, you said you think 35quid??,,i cant really see the rod,but you seem a trusting kinda bloke?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..so how about 30quid!!!!!!!!!!!!!...i know where ginger lives which is only about an hr and a bit drive away he said you dont live far so i could come and collect it sometime??.
  3. Yes i did ring, but cannot confirm the outcome??,,i hope the b******s got caught?,,it was a blatant "couldn"t give a ****" attitude these anglers had.
  4. PS,how much for the rod jeepster??!!,,i"ll ask ginger to have a look!!!!.
  5. Cheers ginger, that would be great, could you pick me one up,i"ll square up with you when i see you,,i"ll be going to eldernell lake in a couple of weeks so if you"d like to come give me a call,,cheers yog
  6. Ken,a further 3 anglers were on the north bank stretch last night [wednesday],in full view of the passing cars, they just seemed oblivious to everything even me honking my horn at them.
  7. lol!!!,,i take your point glenn, and totally agree, what i should have said was i require a rod suitable for FLOAT FISHING FOR TENCH!!!.as not all beefed up rods are suitable for float fishing.
  8. Help!!!,I desperatly need a new tench float rod,i"ve looked at the classic drennan model which is nice but at a 140 quid a bit to pricey for me.I"m aware there are others on the market suitable for what i need but to be honest with such a choice its really doing my head in!!!!If i could get my choice down to a couple i"ll be more than happy!!!I"m prepared to pay around 100quid but no more.So was wondering what anglers net members use?..thanks.

sorry to hear this,as stated a true country gent,i think he actually did some work for the BBC a few years back working on the "survival" programmes.
  10. I passed all of 1 of my 9 "gcse"s,studied like mad,my 1st job was horrid, the hrs were crap, and i hardly got any fishing in,finally ended up in the forces, came out a few years ago, didn"t know what to do so took a job as postie till i decided..i"ve decided!!!!!!!!!!,,i"m staying put, with these hrs 4.30am -12.00,i"ve got more fishing in during these past years than i ever did!!! the money aint to bad,but its not about the money is it?,,quality of life thats what counts.
  11. Great stuff mate, the smile on your daughters face says it all,in a world where probably alot of anglers take fishing just a little to serious, this is what it should be all about..enjoyment.
  12. Ferret,Same here mate the Nene stretch along "north bank" was being lure fished by 4 individuals, not of eastern european origin either, the same day the 20ft at w.sey was being fished by a further 2 individuals, who incidently caught a small jack pike whilst i was watching them.I did report them to the chairman of the controlling club,if they were kids i would have just had a word but these were fully grown men around 40-50 yrs of age!!...and you aint gonna tell me they"re unaware of the river season dates!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I wonder if this thread would have so many replies if it was a bloke who was new to fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i doubt it!!!!!,,but joking aside welcome aboard jo.
  14. I"m having a clearout to fund my new Tench float rod the above rod is virtually brand new [i"ve only used it the once],if anyone has a float rod ideal for tench who wants to do a swap or part ex,i"m all ears, failing this i"m open to offers on the fox rod..cheers.
  15. Yes i know its been out for ages, and most of you lot have read it but what a good book John Wilsons "Where to fish in Norfolk and Suffolk" is its a minefield of information and i"ll certainly be checking out some of those fantastic gravel pits and estate lakes during the closed season, are there any other books on the market similar to this covering different areas?? cheers.

    New tench rods

Just had a look Budgie, everyone seems to praise Wychwood highly, did Leeda buy Wychwood out?.The prices seem far cheaper than Drennan so i"m very tempted, surprised to hear of the bad customer service from drennan,50 quid for a section is taking the mick a little.Saying that i dont think i"ve ever bought a "cheap" Drennan product, they do tend to keep they"re prices high, more than likely relying on the name to sell the product.
