Hi Dingle I used the fishfinder for about 4 hours it hadn't picked a fish the one I bought was the one that was for sale in lidis and was only splash proof, and came with 11.5 meters of cable for the transponder, and because they are handheld I found it very difficult to mount and I spent more time messing around with it than actually concentrating on fishing.
  2. Hi Bluemarlin I live in Romford and bought my seat from Brighton Canoes I think it was about £60.00 it has a huge back pocket that stores all my fishing kit. I'm taking my Caper down to Folkestone this weekend I Haven't really thought about fishing from Benfleet or the surrounding areas. I thought the tides would be to strong? but when your up and running just give me shout and we'll have a paddle hopefully catch a few bass

Hi Dingle I bought one off eBay I found it a pain in the backside I only used it once and put it straight back on eBay I just found it a complete nightmare I found I had wires everywhere and then trying to hold the fishfinder, and hold the rod. ended up buying a Hummingbird piranhamax. Once you have drilled your fist hole every holes a goal Come on be brave just talk to your yak just like the dentist you won't feel a thing trust me.
  4. I will going down to the Kent coast this weekend I'll be fishing around folkstone and the warren if anyone fancies a paddle, fingers crossed I might catch a few bass

  6. Hi Simon the long tubes and brackets are from B&Q they are 40mm waste pipes and come in a 2m length and cost about £5.50

Hi Specimen I have the transducer fitted by the front hatch at the moment I'm using Polystyrene block which is glued in place and then the transducer is covered in Vaseline which works really well. Starvinmarvin of course you can use pictures hopefully I'll have a double figure base to get me in the hall of fame.
  8. hi speciman and jaffa the fish finder i am using is the piranha max 15. i find it fits very nicely between my plates i have fitted a scotty rod rest which i have modified to fit on the side i was going to fit flush mounts but did'nt want to keep drilling my girl my yak last year was an ocean frenzy but i find the caper sits well on the water and is not too heavy and handles really well ps forgot to say hi to the godfather of uk yak fishing yakity yak
  9. I thought it was about time I said hello? I have been on the site on a daily basis and have been fishing out of yaks for two years. this is my second yak most of my fishing has been in Hythe and Sandgate Kent. had a quite few mackerel,garfish no bass yet but this year I'm fully kitted out and will be fishing from Dover up to Dungeness many thanks to Anglersafloat for the usefull advice and everyone on anglers net if anyone fancies a paddle for some bass let me know cheers for now
