  1. myself and a few friends have fished from frenzy's for over 4 years now upto 2 miles off shore many trips more than 10 miles round trip all over cornwall. now i have just sold it to a friend as i have had to get a double so that i can take my daughter out with me we were out sat and sun this weekend and did a trip from charmouth to seaton and around fishing on bottom and trolling. no problems what so ever and there is plenty of room to add fishing gadgets if that is your thing. i had two rods, fishfindre, gps, large storage box made from fibreglass with an aluminium top andlid which is molded from the stern and just lifts in and out as required and a dry bag under the cargo straps at the front.both trips this weekend were at least 5 miles round trip my friend is a lot bigger and heavier than my and he didn't have any problems. like you say you can always play in the surf as an extra bonus in a frenzy easier than longer yaks. this is just one view from someone who has used one for some time and i am sure there will be more feedbacks to come. hope it helps.
  2. hi scotsgun,i mount my ff on the rear toggle molding. the ff transducer is fixed to a piece of stainless steel 2mm thick sheet with a vertical slot in it which allows the toggletriangle (the bit that the cord goes through -ocean kayak type)to go through and is held with a m5 capscrew and wing nut. this allows easy tightening and slackening so that the transducer can be raised up when dragging yak onto beach and lowered when ready to enter water. just like an outboard motor does just have to work out correct lenght of slot so transducer is obviously under the water line. i think off hand my plate is only about 8 inches long and4 wide with a slight curve and it works great.fitted like this it can be taken off anytime.hope this helps.
  3. all my leashes are car phone chargers with both ends cut off then loops formed and held with a zip tie.one end is attached to rod or paddle etc simply by putting one loop through the other then i little insulation tape around and the other end one to one of the karabenas on the yak.so simple and because they are coiled wire they are short and only cost 20p-a quid at my local carboot(a bit piky i know but a good laugh) yakmad
  4. moved to dorset 18 months ago. have fished around there quite a number of times you can pick up your own kayak weight in mackerel round there so plenty of bait, pollack and bass ,gurnard, wrasse, gar and some eels. another lovely mark near there is black head paddle from pentewan (there is also a yak shop there if you need anything)but you will need wheels to get your yaks to the beach it is a bit far to carry them.black head is the headland sticking out the most to the left as you look out to sea.you can also paddle there from a beach called porthpean and you can drive right down the slip way thereand unload then park the cars back at the top only 30 seconnds away, usually this beach is flat calm as it is out of the usual windand is on the other side of blackhead sojust paddle out past the headland on your right and you will see it but it is further to the point from this beach but it is not too far. it is a deep water mark even at low waterprob60 feet or more at a guess lw.mack,dogs,gar,plaice,mullet,gurnard,eels,pollack,bass. would love to come to meet but i don't think i will be able to on a bank holiday weekend(wife and daughter)have a great time and just let me know if you need any info.
  5. just thought that i would let you know that i lived in newquay and st austell cornwall for 12 years and fished from shore and yak the whole time. if you need any other info on marks etc don't hesitate to ask, i would be only too happy to help if i can.
  6. sam cox hi. i lived in cornwall for last twelve years and worked in and around tackle shops and fishing industry most of that time.only moved to dorset 1 month ago and i have fished all twelve years down there on my own and as a member of various fishing clubs and have never caught or heard of or seen any tope being caught or weighed in in any comps.closest place is devon ,dorset or the scilly's

hi M P. i;ve got a garmin 80 on my yak and when i first used it i was thinking there are 5 small fish under me ,then on the next drop there they are again and so on. it wasn't until after about 6 or 7 drops that i realized it was my 4 muuets and the lead going down each time(what a t..t i thought and my mate was ******* his self laughing at me as he has used one for years and knew straight away what it was so i'm happy with mine but it does go blank once in a while but only for seconds then its back. cheers yakmad
