I also fish for pike 5Ib line is not the right line to go pikeing with i always use 15Ib line but i mostley dead bait or live bait when i can

Idon,t know if carp can smell pike i wouldent think so but you never know

barney you onley get this problem if you leave the pike to have your bait to long i mean you woulden't give a bream 2 mins to eat a worm
