  1. Yes, perhaps they could brand it on, if the plastic was thick enough Not really fair for me to comment as i havent seen the Elite in the flesh so to speak , but hey......... I have every faith in OK's manufactured in NZ, it's probably/hoping it's just teething problems, with any luck and maybe some pain to some they might issue a recall if they warrent it seriously enough. As i'm in the market for one I'm going to check them out for myself tommorow lunchtime and make my own judgments, they got a couple in stock in their warehouse both NZ builds.
  2. Hehe just came back from silly isle , interesting landing to say the least, still we hit the runway on the third attempt at getting her down, give them pilots their due it cant be much fun trying to sit down one of them crates in a force 6. I'm surprised there's not more Guernsey kayakers on here as I must have counted at least ten on the way to and from the airport, we should get a inter island comp going.
  3. Please dont say pink with yellow spots Good luck with the Yak.
  4. Well I would, I'd be really worried about the thickness of the plastic, i think it would be best to check it out with a torch first before buying, you will soon get a good idea how thick the plastic is.
  5. Well i'm glad I held off on ordering my 4.5 for now, i'm sure they will rectify their molding process to suit. I'm sure mr Kett would do his best to honour any problems with the kayaks purchased from Iron Stores Marine, as for the owner that could be a different matter.
  6. Well I think some of them were made by the same people that make fairy liquid
  7. Our boy had shingles when he was one, we couldnt brush his hair for a year let alone pick him up and cuddle him, I hope you get better soon Trev, dont worry about the beer festival, I drank enough for both of us.
  8. Dont worry, it's my spambox, I have other mail accounts that I keep private so let the harvesters do their worst, want any Viagra?? lol
  9. Sorry for the late reply, beer festival yesterday...hic Hi Roccoyak welcome aboard, nice to see you again, well have to get something sorted like Grant says, weather providing. t's allways good to put a face to a name and it was a funny conversation lol. You can get me at (shado@jerseymail.co.uk), without the brackets Next weekend is good for me, even if we dont get out maybe we could all do lunch or somethime and talk about the ones that got away. . I'm easy (now now) whatever you guys want to do. On a side note, one of the greatest things for me about Kayaking is the fact that people you wouldn't normally say hello to in the street you gladly wave to and speak with while afloat, it is a very special hobby we share, I have had the privalage of meeting a lot good people, good friends and only one nutter through kayaking, If you do decide to have a go you will get addicted...........
  10. Good to know, I guess i'm reading to much into what people are saying about the 18-55.
  11. Yesterday saw our annual Battle of Britain display, which is never complete without The Arrows.
  12. Funny enough I was nosing around on there last night and the kit lense 18-55 was going for a pittance, and new, making a saving of at least £20, every penny counts you know, especially with this photography lark I hear the kit lense is nothing spectaclular so I might go for the body and stretch to a better bit of glass.
  13. Looks like a nice peice of kit, I was just about to get a 30d but this might be better for my budget, best price i've found so far is at play.com Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR Camera Body Only (Black) our price: £479.99 Delivered Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR Camera 18-55mm Lens Kit (Black) our price: £529.99 Delivered descisions descisions
  14. Hi NMT, hope your enjoying the hobby, that wasnt you that went missing for 58 hours was it?? Well my opinion only, the idea of putting water into a kayak when you do your best to keep the stuff out just doesnt make sense to me, but hey looks like a decent piece of kit none the less.
  15. I have to laugh, I should have gone the bookies yesterday. Diver "I made it all up" The Guernsey diver who was miraculously rescued after 53 hours in the sea says he made it all up. He was in fact in the UK. Guernsey Police say the matter is complex and the full facts are as of yet not established. Police confirm Matt Harvey has been interviewed with respect to the matter and his family kept fully informed. They say this is a very difficult time for his family. In a press release the Police go on to say: "It is noted that there has been critical speculation with respect to the search at sea for Mr Harvey being unsuccessful. The information gathered by Police clearly indicates that at the time of the search Mr Harvey was not in the sea or upon the coast."
  16. LOL Smac good thread, not a misspelling as such but everytime I see Shopfitter printed on a van or hoarding I read shoplifter. I used to work in a toy shop when I was younger, I was showing the customer our range of kites at the time, I tried to sell her a stunt kite but I got my words muddled, needless to say she didnt buy the **nt stite.
  17. I bet he hasnt now, not after the weekend he must have had

A great loss, absolutely bonkers but a loss none the same.
  20. On the news tonight there was mention that a pod of dolphins may have pushed him to the shore. Diver story revealed The truth behind what happened to diver Matthew Harvey, who was lost in Guernsey waters for over 2 days has been revealed. It's believed dolphins helped protect him. Matthew Harvey's released a written statement detailing what happened during nearly 60 hours when he was lost out at sea. While on an early morning dive on Saturday, Matthew says he was struck by a boat and knocked out. The next thing he remembers is being some distance offshore and caught in the tide running Southwest past Jerbourg. He couldn't make headway and was taken several miles out to sea until the tide turned back towards Guernsey's coast. Matthew made it to the coast and dragged himself into a gully where he passed out until Monday morning. Thinking he was near Petit Port he tried to swim round to the bay and let the tide bring him back towards the beach. But Matthew soon realised he was wrong about where he was and found no bay. In his exhaustion he gave up swimming after a few hours and just drifted until rescued by a visiting yacht. He's thanking everyone who took part in the search. Guernsey Police are reiterating they are no longer investigating the ordeal.
