here's a tip for you all,if you have a stanton without the drag,you can remove the retaining screw and put an O ring on the thread and then put the screw back on. this makes a better drag than the cork washer.

Would you believe it,after posting on this site the other day,i thought i would try and catch a river roach,something i have not caught for ages,in fact i can't remember the last one i had caught. Putting out a large lump of flake in a nice slack,as i put the rod on the rest i felt a small pluck,followed by the rod tip pulling round.A quick strike resulted in a mint conditioned barbel of 2 1/4lb,i was absolutely delighted and totally surprised,i did not ever consider fishing for barbel with breadflake before,but it's something i will certainly do in future.

1] getting wound up by people like Eric,on BFW site,and then trying to get them kicked off just because you don't agree with what they say. 2]considering to pay someone for a day to help catch a pet barbel.

I set myself a target this season,and that was to catch a barbel UNDER 3lb,and no i'm not joking. I have never caught a barbel below 5lb,but i have witnessed a friend catch a 1.5lb fish and i must say that it was the best looking barbel that i have ever seen.ABSOLUTELY in perfect condition. It truly was an amazing sight. I have virtually resorted to match tactics,but still haven't managed one,any ideas.
