  1. If not using wet hands disgusts you imgaine how I felt a few weeks ago when, a bloke on the opposite side of the lake to me. Caught a decent size carp must have been double figures, picked it up out of the water and dropped yes dropped! it on the landing stage the hook fell out and it then fell back into the water. People like this do not deserve to have a license, that fish that he caught would have smashed my PB and for him to treat it in such a poor way just made me very annoyed. Needless to say I informed the club owner and he is looking into it.
  2. Id suggest an Okuma I have the Match-Feeder--Specimen model and I find it great, however if you want a freespool version there is always the interceptor baitfeeder. Depends what size fish you are after?
  3. I think the rod license is a good idea, it is hardly expensive for a good years fishing. And Tigger what about rivers and local ponds that are not owned by anyone in particular, surely someone has to maintain them? and were else would the money come from?
  4. I cant say I have ever had erection problems with mine
  5. Have you ever known the bag come off or break on the cast? is it as strong as using for example pva tape or string.
  6. Does anyone know were Matt Hayes gets his caps from, the ones which are closed on the back so there are no fiddle adjustments? I have one of these and they are very comfortable but I got it from the states!
  7. Andrew thanks for that, the lead system looks great! From what I can see do you just roll the rubber part up, attach the bag and slide it back down? if so that would make it so easy.
  8. Thanks andrew I am using a wychwood rouge 2.75tc at the moment and yes it is rather stiff, so would I be fine using a Fox Warrior Xt rod 2.5tc with 12lb line with pva bags? And if so what size? Thanks JPL
  9. Do you think the 2.5tc would be better than the 2.75?
  10. I only really do short range work as no places that i fish really offer long range work. I normally only use single hook baits, but would like to try PVA in the future Budget would be about £100 but could stretch.
  11. I am currently looking for another carp rod but I am unsure what to go for since they is so much choice, can anyone suggest a good carp rod?
  12. I have seen people using back line clips just above were the reel is. What is the advantage of using one of these?
  13. You could always wait as sometime this month the new Wychwood Rouge is coming out, it could already be out im unsure. It is going to retail at the same price as the old one, about £50 so unless your in a hurry you could check that out.
  14. Yes the reel is a wychwood freespin, I bought this set and it has been totally excellent. However I am upgrading the reel for christmas, but to be honest as a set it is totally excellent and would well reconmend it.
  15. any company that you can suggest and I will be grateful.
  16. Has anyone got one of this or tried them on? are they any good, do they make you clamy since it sounds as though they are plastic inside.
  17. That story is just such an amazing one, you totally deserve that Bill! well done.
  18. When should a shockleader be used then? and would they be any advantage of me using one?
  19. Should I be using a shockleader when casting out a PVA bag, I am using a 2.75 test curve rod with a shimano baitrunner loaded with 15 pound line. I am not wanting to use big bags only small ones.
  20. Does no body use the old swingtips when ledgering instead of the new style? Does anyone know of a rod that uses the old swingtips? i've heard shakespeare are suppose too.
  21. Common 40 this is going away from the orginal topic but, if you were fishing close to an island. And this is only a day ticket how would you fish it? would you use pva bags? single hook baits?
  22. a few weeks ago all that I was getting all session was line bites, this seemed to scare them off after a while. This was close to an island, so next time I think I will try and fish a bit slacker to try and avoid the liners, also thanks for the great tips Common 40
