  2. Hi all Have been reading the threads and I am well excitied as the venues seem to be waking up and the fish are getting going. As I am going this weekend for a 48 sessions, am hoping that my local water will do the same. STC
  3. No probs, know what it is like to move to a new area and not be able to find any decent carp waters. Hoe it goes well and you hook in to a biggin. STC
  4. Hello and welcome I have never fished Cornwall way but here is a couple of links to get you started. Another way would be to find a local tackle shop and ask them. http://www.cornwall-online.co.uk/waterside/fishing.htm http://www.carp-passion.com/Venues/Venues.asp This one is a member only one but its worth giving them a call http://www.midcornwallfisheries.co.uk/#/carplake/4525988669 This link includes a few in devon, i used to live in devon and cornwall aint to far away. http://www.carp-uk.net/waterguide/devonandcornwall.htm Hope these help. 5. Guess thats true was thinking about how much i have spent, must be in the region of 500-800 quid, which i guess is not much for kit and alike. Mind i only go about 3-4 times a year, due to work and family. What i was wondering was, if he had spent all that money and he has very little time why not down scale and only go a couple of times a year. Just my thoughts, I would sooner go once or twice a year than never. STC
  6. Damn, thats alot of kit. Good price thou. STC
  7. Hi Fella here we go Oaktree in devon, very good carp upto 30 and a cat to 40 (PM me for info on how to fish this one) Bournemouth, high kingcombe, great place, (pm me for more info) Goodimill in Devon, good from what i have heard but have never fished it. One near Barnstaple but can not recall the name. Its ok, bit of a put your rod in the water and catch a fish but good for testing new rigs and stuff. 11. Do not know surrey area that well, you could try your local tackle shop they will help you or do a google search carp waters in the areas your are interested in. Not a great help sorry STC
  12. i am hedging towards the british army bag if i to be honest
  13. Where abouts in the south? its a big place STC
  14. Great amount of info, thanks guys. Still undecided as to which bag at the moment but it will be either the Big Snooze by tracker or the British army one. The army bag I like the look of because of the single zip (crash zip and velcro) and the fact that it goes down to -15 and the great feedback it has been given by you guys. The Big Snooze because of the fact you get a bit more room in the bag and that crash zips, and i like the idea of being able to fasten it to the beg chair, and because of the feed back it to has been given on here. Decisions, decisions. Cheers again guys STC
  15. Thanks guys, like rob says you pays your money and makes your choice, i can see the benefits of both bags, i am tempted by the army bag but on the other hand i am tempted by some of the features of the carp bag too. Guess I will make a decision next month when i get to the buying. Thanks again guys for the advice and info, will let you know what i go for. STC

  17. Outstanding guys, cheers. One question, how easy is it to get out of the british army sleep system? I feel the same about the brand products but i do like the aspect that you can get out of them quickly. I must admit i am tempted by the british army sleep system. STC
  18. Hi all Have been looking at buying a sleeping bag, the one i have at the moment is not a carp bag, but a nomal 5 season bag, its all well and good but getting out of it is a pain and it is a bit restricting on the old movement side. So I have decided to go ahead and by a carp one, I am looking at buying one for about £40 quid, so the one that springs to mind is Trackers big snooze, have also been looking at the TFG X-Tuff Extreme Sleeping bag. Both of these seem ok, espically the Big Snooze. Does anyone have any advice or experiences with these or similar bags? Would like to know before I seperate with my pennies. cheers STC
  19. The very same thought occured to me at the same time, luckly i seem to remeber that it was hooked in one of the legs and we where able to unhook it with out to much trouble, me and mates did have to stop and look at it for a while before we worked up the courage to unkook the beast. STC
  20. Was out sea fishing as a lad, hooked in to some thing and started to reel in, but every ten yards or so i would have to stop and pull in like i was snagged, throught i wass getting caught in seaweed/or kelp but when i got it in i had an octupus (probably the wrong spelling) on the end, it had been attaching itself to rocks as i reeled it in. Made for interestig unhooking, and oh boy was he less than impressed when we finally throw him back. STC
  21. Cheers rob, gunna get a pair of scirrors and do a job on my trainers i think. Cheers fella
  22. I have a pair of GFx and have have no problems with them at all, the best thing i brought from them are the bobbins that you plug in to the bottom of the alarm are great. Light weight, but do not move an inch even in the wind. STC
  23. Pretty much that really rob, have been looking for something to get over the problem of getting to the rods when i get a take at night but not slowing me down to much that i miss the bite. Have tried sleeping with my old trainers on in the sleeping bag but getting out it is a pain. Recently have unlaced my trainers and left them by my bed so i can swing out of bed, slip on my trainers and away. Was thinking that there must be a easier way or quicker way of getting something on my feet. Hence Bivvy slippers or crocs. As like yourself i prefer just to wear socks in the bag. In the summer i just go bare foot, but in the cold and wet that gets a bit unpleasent. STC
  24. Ideal guys thanks alot, guna go down the local shoe shop and buy a cheap pair of fake crocs. That saves me a squid or two. STC
