  1. Don't mean to start trouble. Little preoccupied by this.http://www.weather.com/newscenter/tropical/?from=wxcenter_news
  2. Little info on WARRIOR. No world records-whatever. 369# giant bluefin (core weight),138# yellowfin tuna, 78# dolphin, 101# wahoo, too many marlin (blue/white) to count-several blues over 300#, double digit daily sailfish releases(dead bait troll only), 30+# red drum release(on 8# test-3 weeks ago), 42" snook release (too big to keep), shall I keep on going...Oh, don't forget the Swordfish we cought LAST NIGHT, snapper, grouper, king mackeral, and cobia whatever. Don't want to leave out the countless spiney lobster and bahamian hog fish I've speared while free diving. I'm not the most worldly, but have fished from the Hudson canyon to Key West and damn near all the Bahamas to Turks and Caicos. We are blessed over here. I'm blessed to be able to fish/dive, or kill/release as I wish. I love to fish. I am glad you are proud of your trophy fish, but I don't really give a damn about world records or a 700# Tiger.
  3. Then get back on your row boat with your banana hammock and leave "the big game thing" to us. http://www.swordfishingcentral.com/gallery...-2005/sword_002 check out last nights fish on "Broadbill"
  4. Like I said the other day, "We kill to eat, they kill whatever eats" What depth and what water temp do yall fish in? I thought I read cold water earlier.
  5. Jabee, I looked at the link you sent. Those fish definately have leverage on yall. Any good to eat, or is it just a sport fish? Beautiful country in those pictures, Scenery always adds to the enjoyment of trip. We just look at powerplants, condos, and landfills.
  6. I cought a buzz saturday Scott. I was at home braving the elements, and the Florida game, and I found myself really struggling with my circumstances. So, I bravely exited my game room to my back yard, and my rotten a$$ kids, to meander to the fridge on my back porch
  7. Love your analogies Boatsmiami. Where did Kcrusty come from? Who cares about cod anyway. Scott, sounds like someone we know. Cut through one's head...thats awesome - too funny
  8. http://www.swordfishingcentral.com/gallery...s-2005/DSCN0240 something for yall to see
  9. That is exactly my problem five bellies. We all try to be involved with decisions regarding recreational regulations on our coast. Some like these are trivial, when Longliners account for miles and miles of line and tens of thousands of hooks each run. They fish every day, and we fish when we can. You do the math. We kill to eat, they kill whatever eats.
  10. We thought Wednesday, but now I'm thinking Tuesday.
  11. Thats my problem with National marine fisheries. I found out about HMS meeting in Ft. Pierce two days before the meeting. @ 15 people attended mostly my friends. The one in Miami/Lauderdale was postponed supposedly due to the storm two months ago. A bunch of BS Mostly, Marine Biologists (who have never been on a fishing boat) wanting to regulate Recreational angling. Circle hooks for white marlin tourneys, No white or blue marlin kill tourneys, conservation, conservation, conservation. All good...great, but in the same meeting, they wanted to allow 35 or possibly 50 bouys per non long line-but commercial- fishing boats. So they are going to allow commercial "shortlining" in our swordfish grounds-YEP. No B.S. They are actually allowed now, and they are not even regulated on the number of bouys they can run. They are not technically longliners. Kind of confusing. It is however a way for them to add to our sword tonnage-which we do not meet by far anyway. My theory, Let our recreational fish count towards the quota. Don't let some other country destroy the fishery for the entire Atlantic. Beeper bouys- I would consider a debate Non US regulated Commercial Longliners-no time for that ****
  12. 6-9' this weekend. GPS at Shop. Nascar and College football... Perfect! for now
  13. I think you both have lost site of this issue. We obviously use different tackle, techniques, and bait for all varieties of game we fish for. The problem is they do not understand the concentration of fish we have here in the states. Granted, I myself have noticed -generally speeking- both a decline in some species, and major advances in others. Sailfish, Swordies, Snook, redfish, mullet, amberjacks, and grouper have shown to strengthen in Florida. While offshore fish like Dolphin have seemed to decline. The dolphin though migrate through longliners and very densly populated areas before reaching my area. Everytime national marine fisheries or our local government get involved with slot limits (min-max inches) or limit the number of fish we are allowed to keep, we seem to strenthen that fish stock immediately. Longliners and commercial fisherman from South America are our #1 problem.
  14. BottomFish, Boats- Did yall go to the National marine fisheries meeting in Lauderdale? Have they had it yet? North Atlantic HMS that is.
