  1. There are a lot of "oil free" sprays around and some work great to attract by "smell" to the hookbait. D.N.A. fish frenzy,Scopex and Monster crab are my favourites on ANY hookbait. I stress "oil free" as oily sprays congeal in cold water and do not disperse.
  2. It's great at night. Take the kids down to see all the pretty lights.
  3. OOoops! I'll try again later. This is virtually the same. Austrian Version Look under the 22 Dec specials.
  4. Sorry about the fuzziness. I will do a better one later. Base station measures 10.5" x 4.5" x 1".. Radio remote sensor 5.252 x 2.5"
  5. If you are like me and like to keep a detailed angling log, this is a boon. A multifunction weather station for less than 30 Euro. This is available over here at the moment from Aldi. I do not know if this equipment has been available in the UK yet. A great little stocking filler for myself
  6. Brilliant. Good job theyr'e not garfish.
  7. An Unhooking mat? You must have been very naughty this year.
  8. Most of the clubs are on this website. Bonnie
  9. PERSONALLY I have found the use of backleads of all types to be a hindrance rather than help. The captive ones are the worst as I have even had them tangle round the mainline. The other types can pick up weed and debris and can stop retrieval. The list goes on. I put up with the line bites, they keep me on my toes. A lot more to say on the subject. But I will leave it at that.
  10. The only "ready rigs" I buy are leadcore leaders. The actual hooklinks I tend to make at the lakeside to suit bait and conditions. Cheaper anyway.
  11. Not what I would call a Session Carp Fishing water though.
  12. According to most pundits, oils are not the way ahead in winter. Oils tend to coagulate and even solidify. But high release flavourings are the thing to use (soluble\miscible). Have a look @ this website. baity things It's a great site if you make your own boillies. Don't forget that an oil covered bait will STOP any flavours\smells in your bait from getting out into the water.
  13. A good compromise is the JRC Duo Stainless pod. It is made up of a very strong backbone and heres the great thing; 6 Stainless steel adjustable banksticks all for £49.99. Unfortunately no buzz bars.
  14. I bought mine from Johnson Ross A wee bit disappointed though, as the stated bs is 15lb and the best I can do with a Palomar knot is 11.5 -12lb on a straight pull. {2008 Editor's Note: to view X-line for sale, please click here}
  15. Do you agree with these sort of rules? Please read.Record eel?
  16. I have been using the fangs for about 18 months now and I think the smaller versions are excellent. They come a very close second to the Carp-R-Us Centurion 2000 which seem to have disappeared from the market. Unless someone out there knows where I can get them! But whatever hook you choose it has to be sharp. With chemically sharpened hooks, if you snag up on the hook replace it. It may look sharp to the naked eye. BUT!
  17. I don't know whether shape covers this. But size can make a great difference, especially in Winter.
  18. It's great being small though. I don't have to worry about a skyline profile. Except when I am carrying my rod holdall.
  19. I've got the 13ft cocoon, 4x4. But you can be tempted to put too much kit in it. Gets a bit cumbersome when your a dwarf.
  20. Thanks for the welcome. As for the common; 30lb, I wish. 23lb in Nov 04 previously caught June 04 @ 16.5lb.
  21. Try and contact The Chairman of NICAS on this sites forum. They have an outing there every year. NICAS
  22. Try sugar coated crystallised root ginger. it will last for hours(at least14) in cold water. Another is to use your favourite oily Summer bait, dipped halibut pellet for instance. Both these used as a single hookbait. The carp do not get to eat them after all. so no damge done. As an attractant if you feel you need it, a small (Walnut) size bag of low oil carp pellets. this method worked for me last Winter. Best of luck.
  23. Hi All, I have just ordered some X-Line and wondered if anyone here has used it. I have used Krystonite which is fluoro' coated and found it to be a great line but prone to twists. So I thought this time the Full Monty.
