Sorry, can't be arsed looking at all the posts , I appoligise in advance. I fished Dungy in the mid 60s /70s with a good friend (Terry Carrol). In them days you had to cast 100yds plus to get into the "dustbin". Even then we found it difficult to fish through the lines etc that had snapped off.Now adays 100 plus will be sneered at, I think they are now talking 250 plus. There was plenty of cod in them days to the 15lb mark, the big ones appeared now and again (pb 23lb). Basiclly all I'm saying is,it will never be the same. l

Pound for pound, try catching mackrel on the fly.

Agree on above, spending a fortune on gear will not make you a good caster. But a few lessons will help, and where better to get advice as well.

Hi all, 1st post on here, looks good. I have a Hardy Sovereign Fly Reel 8/9 (Golden Coloured) for sale. It's in original box and case and has been used but in good nick, only slight wear on tension knob. I have a pic but can't get it on here (my fault). I've thought of puting it on ebay but thought I'd test the water here. Any offers will have to be over £100. Thanks for looking.
