  2. sounds a good idea but surely the weight of the hole set up is against you when fishing on your own lugging about on the beach . keeping the unit in a waterproof bag has advantages and disadvantages firstly it will keep the unit out of the rain but with the cold temps at the mow using a bulb such as a 12volt 25to 65 watt will be drawing alot and will cause heat tobe generated from power pack which in turn will lead to condensation on the inside of the tesco bag which will could lead to a short curcit . if you took the idea and scaled it down ,lets say a battery of a motor bike 6volt or12 which can fit in your pocket and a mini resistor to allow the use of a bulb at a rating of 1.5v/4.5v . ( led) would be ideal should last on a 6volt bike battery about 200hours and can be recharged in the lighter socket in the car and needs no hands to carry and would cost less than a power pack from aldi i use a £10 led head light out of argos which runs on 3 rechargeable aaa bats and lasts 12 to 15 hours and my good old coleman duel fuel lamp which gives off a small amount of heat enough to keep warm under the brolley with side sheet ( would not have it any other way) i even put a pie in foil and put it on the top of lamp for a few hours ( its the dogs cahooners) with a tea if you want somethink to work look after it k2user
  3. hi watching it know ,some reporter said that a jap film crew just arrived (we know what there for to see if a ship will under the bridge ) k2user

  5. hi have any of you peeps tried the linconshire peeler of ebay . bought a couple of bags to give it ago tonight some where dark on the southeast coast . once i ordered and that it arrived very quick and was well wrapped there was 12 individual bait ups in a bag each supported in their own little membrane to hold together and dated i got the fruits of the sea type and they smell potant , i will use them on 1 rod and keep to my normal baits on the others one goog thing i can see is that what i dont use out of the cooler bag on the night can still go back in the bait fridge or be frozen before the end date on the bag, lets hope they do well. please let me know your views on the said bait if you have used it with success or even not k2user

  8. hi right i had a good read up on the google earth site and it states that all the 3 versions work off the same set of pictures which are updated when they are able to get pictures from other sources which they have no control but it does state to check regulary to see if they have new detailed pics for your area even with the undetailed map grids it is still possible to locate areas with ease handy tool with many uses k2user
  9. hi sorry to not mention that when first posted this, but it still gives a good idea where to go i am pretty much sure that the versions you pay for will be better as this must be a taster i might give the 20dollar version ago and i will post it up if it is better resolution on the unshaded areas i have used it to much success in finding locations that are not easy to find, this probaly will suit the fresh water fisherman out there k2 user
  10. hi all i have seen alot of question regarding places to fish and to gain access and this little bit of info is going to change your planning for ever it has mine this is a satatlite picture programme with zoom ,it zooms in so much i can see things in my garden lets say you want to find a quiet spot out of the way pick the area roughly you wish to look at and then with the zoom in function search those shore lines untill you have a spot possible for those quiet jornts then what i do is scan the area for access might be road, track or even shore line and if i find a clear right of way access i log the location and give it ago. the programme is free well there is 3 types of programme 1 which is free 2 which is 20 dollars and the 3 one is 400 dollars i use the free one and its the dogs cahooners type in google earth into your search broswer and click on the site from the list once there just download and install the free versions pictures of my area are about 2 years old but still excellent i suppose if you opt for the better versions they are up to date hope this helps you all let me know what you think k2user

  18. hi all just thought i would post this up for people who would not be using the parking sites allocated for the events at the excel show centre they charge £5 for the day and have a park and bus ride service to the shows, these might be your best bet as the locals target people using the streets to park there cars, vans and bikes on whilst they go to the shows knowing they are going to be some time. they work in groups and some people have been beaten up in the past stopping these thieves in the act the last thing anybody wants after a day at the show which this year has an area dedicated to fishing is have it ruined due to idiots last year DHL the parcel people made a statment on the news that they did not deliver to london E16 due to the theft from there vehicles and beaten up drivers i would like to state i do not have any involvement with park and ride service provided as some might think i am trying to drum up buisness for them , i just want the members on here who might be going to the show to have a nice day and being that i live in E16 and know what goes on i thought i would pass it on k2user
  19. hi fished deal pier friday night to morning for the very first time , arrived about 9pm fished the lower deck straight out as this was the only clear spot, spoke to a few anglers on our way, some had fished the day before and who where having a night session that night too. one reported he had some nice cod the previous day so we thought we might have some luck , all started well i loaded up a 4/0 with fresh lug and a strip of squid whilst my mate just went whole squid i went long and he went short , 1 min past and i had my first fish a small pouting and me and my mate thought we was in for a busy night but how wrong we were because thats all we had all night and it was the same all around, all we see was a doggie caught to the right of us all night , we stuck the wind and the rain and the cold temps to the end we lost 5 lots of tackel due to snags of the front of the deck but never lost any when we moved around to the right when it cleared so we know for next time. over all a poor night but it happens hope others have more luck. thanks to the deal and walmer club members for the use of the kettle that night a big thumbs up k2user
  20. hi sam cox k2user was meant to reflect the shakespear k2 blue metal fishing rod i use but i did a internet search and yes you are right it is a weed and its suppose to grow well indoors in small amounts you must be a hydroponics fan or just in the know i hope others dont think along the lines of weed its me rod honestly k2user
  21. hi i have only tried the stretch between sheerness and minster( the lees) and did find it tobe weedy and lacking fish i was last there 2 weeks ago and got a small whiting in 2 hours then the rod banged away ay up i thought only to bring in a industrial glove those grey ones with the red piping to small to keep as i have big hands i gave the stretch of beach 6 goes over 2 months and missed 4 times , can not be my bait or tactics as it does me well in other parts of kent minster sheerness leysdown are all shallow so i guess this affects the numbers, i have never ever caught anthink big off the shores on sheppey but i still go back i suppose thats because i was born there i am hoping to go one night when the weather has been a bit ruff localy for few days never know those fish might take a look too if you have a small dingy you could try deadmans island in queensbourough the mass of land facing you to the very slight left when looking down the causeway always had luck there when i had a dingy another spot is the kings ferry bridge area but go down past the new bridge thats under construction on the island side and theres an outlet pipe there which is marked with red beacon in the 1980s my father caught an angling fish off that pipe , which was a rarety and i have had a few ling there in the distant pass and your always in water there i could go on for hours but i wont ,so if i have any luck i shall post it must be ok as there was a comp there with 350 entries about 8 or so weeks ago and lit the beach up like southend pier k2user

hi just took up fishing again after a long long break and relised i was a fool to leave it so long ,i did live on isle of sheppey for 18 years and done alot of fishing but sadly after leaving and having a family my old ways drifted away but i can say i am back i must say that over the last couple of months i have been looking around on this site and have found it a god send , all the info has been top notch and a delight to read . i live in london and go mostly to kent fishing , i still use the minister beach for fishing but find the fish quite small and not alot about but deal on the other hand brings me back and backagain and all the locals i meet are friendly and helpful ( cheers if you read this ) i am taking a trip to deal pier this coming weekend for a night session this will be my first ever visit to the pier itself and only be fishing the decks for none members for know so if any members on here are on the pier this weekend maybe i can do you a brew and have a we chat but dont get to technicle on the game as things have changed alot over the years and still getting lost but i still catch fish hope you can say hello k2user
