  1. It would have been better for it to be 55 years per victim, served back to back.

No doubt now he'll be out in 5 years, given a house and a huge state handout to live on plus allowed to import all his friends family and acquaintances at the expense of our taxes

RNLI were the only charity i used to give to but they have lost their direction ,it appears they dont want uk residents to enjoy splashing about near the shore in their hard earned holidays but have no qualms encouraging thousands of foreigners in their ones trying to cross the channel by acting as a meet and greet charity 3" outside french waters .never again!

    Unfortunately so true.

The Rupert's & Nigel's are a given!! - There are too many teachers per students.

Only the brightest kids went to Uni in my day - rest of us were day release!!

Or in my case joined the Army and spent a lifetime as a soldier, followed by a second lifetime as a HGV driver. Worked hard for every penny.

No matter how bright or thick you are education isn't for everyone.

    Hello,

I recently started fishing again after a long time (about 25 years break).

First thing i noticed - carp. Carp are everywhere these days, a lot of the places i used to fish that were once all about the tench and bream are now dominated by carp... and not small ones either. From watching some YouTube videos even match fishing has become carp focused.

What happened? Size queens take over? The carp eat all the food and other species died off?

I'm pretty much resigned to having to beef up my line strength, but is there any tactics or baits that avoid the carp and target Bream, Tench and Perch? Seems like those bloated lake cows eat pretty much anything.

    Apologies to carp anglers.

Welcome back to todays type of fishing. You have to search long and hard to find a water that has natural fish. I find local water authority controlled waters the best. Or look for waters that are/where notoriously hard and folk aren't prepared to put the work in. Failing that "free" fishing if you can find any, as these aren't stocked.

Nothing wrong with sugar in it's natural forms, it's the processed sugar which can cause harm.  Although you need to do naff all exercise and eat too much for it to cause a problem.

People eat fruites as a diet, fruite is full of natural sugar which is still fattening.

If someone wants to loose weight just go on a 1000 calorie diet and exercise.  I wanted to loose some weight and stuck to 1000 to 1200 calories a day and lost 3 1/2 stone in less than a month.

Exercise will help loose weigh but only if you cut down your calories.

A good diet to quickly loose weight is keto diet, and contrary to what a lot of people say it won't do you any harm at all.....unless you have some health issues already!

Unfortunately I hear this a lot, but unfortunately not all of us can exercise like we want or used to.

As a former Parachute Regiment soldier I was arguably one of the fittest men in the country, however, age, disability, old injurys and more recently a stroke put paid to any form of exercise. Unfortunately I do have to eat, although I try to eat more healthy now. With being unable to exercise, I can walk unaided maybe a car length I went from a healthy 12 stone (just under 6'tall) to around 15 stone, it varies from week to week depending on the size of my ?

Being overweight is not always lifestyle choice or idleness nor for the lack of wanting to exercise.

Just as an extra, I have to be very careful in what I eat as I'm also now an insulin dependent diabetic. I don't sit about all day shovelling chocolates crisps and pop down my gullet.

  6. When someone steals a shotgun to use in a robbery they never even think of its value, just chop it up and steal probably a fraction of its value in cash. That's if its a H&H, or similar.

The thing is nowadays some of the top brands do fetch big money.....and a lot of the well known names like Winchester, Browning and a few others are all made in the same factory in Japan. I have a Miroku MK38 Sporter, identical working parts and action to a Browning, handles the same, fires the same yet was about a third of the price. Apart from the name the only other differences are the engraving on mine doesn't extend as far and my woodwork although highly polished and nice to handle isn't as pretty, think grain of the wood, as a hand polished finished in Belguim Browning.

Again money talks, bull.... the have and the have nots.

There are and always have been really nice guns coming out of Italy, very expensive with pretty wood and posh engraved hunting scenes on the metal.

Bargains these days come not only from Japan but from Turkey where apparently they have an abundance of Walnut trees to use and produce very practical and pretty guns. But not being "big names" they sell for mere coppers compared to guns like Perazzi.

The one below was a recent purchase to use as a rough gun, to me its a practical gun to use, not a show piece or a cabinet saver. The wood work rivals some of the top Italian guns but it has no pretty engraving on the metal. I bought it to use but if it was on a named gun it would have cost at least my house and then I would be scared to use it.

Here's a lovely video showing the manufacture of Holland & Holland's Firearms (Double Rifle & Shotguns)

Don't even have to be Interested in shooting to appreciate the love & care that goes into making these things of beauty.

I'd love one, could never justify the outlay, be more than my house.

He never used them he had a canadian single shot which he loved

Probably a COOEY, absolutely brilliant little guns. I bought one earlier this year for pennies, to teach my Grandson to shoot. My daughter fell in love with it and everybody that uses it does. I hope I never have to part with it. Think it was about £45 with a 3 month warranty. Its at least a 100 years old.

Winchester bought out COOEY  and produced it in their name as a Model 84.

That of course is if its the same sort of gun

I bake bread at least once a week, never ever have i put sugar in it. Tastes fine.

A little add on story here:

My Granddaughter then aged 7, was in school and a lady from Warburton came in to talk about baking bread to the kids. Roll on a few minutes and my little varmint pipes up "What sort of idiot puts sugar in bread  my granddad says...........". When I picked her up that day the headmistress said, "Can I just have a word please" ???

Cheers Andy, I've just started using a chair - Identical to the one above. Just need to sort how to attach the brolly.

I've an "Offbox" brolly adaptor & thinking Cable Ties?? or maybe drilling & bolts.

I'll put you a picture up later of a bracket that's ideal for the job, can't remember what they call it, so you'll have to search. I'd do it now but just come in from taking car for service MOT and need to put my feet up.

Two rods would be OK on Buzzers, otherwise I couldn't cope, relax or concentrate these days.

If I'm catching its one rod, if I'm sat sitting and wishing and hoping it's two.

Often I can put two rods out, then just sit back and enjoy the piece and quiet that fishing gives me.

I bought a new armchair this year, probably one of the best purchase I ever made.

I don't find the Pole all that much pleasure!! (effective as it can be in matches)

Yeah me too, I'd rather fish any other method than pole or whip. Just no pleasure in it for me.
