Hey everyone, I'm new to fishing and need to get all the equipment I need to do some fishing this summer. I am currently living in Newcastle and I intend to do some sea fishing around Tynemouth and the surrounding areas over the next few weeks. And then I'll be returning home to sunny South Wales where I'll be sea fishing again around the Gower area. Firstly, can anyone suggest a good place up in Newcastle, or online to get a full suitable setup of equipment on a student budget? (i.e. £30 - £50) Secondly, has anybody got any advice on good fishing marks around Newcastle? Thanks all.

hello, Thanks Kennison, I went along to WWC today actually, they were very helpful and suggested a 'jazz' kayak for me, which with all the extras to go fishing aswell, would come to £400 brand new. The person at WWC suggested this would be a good kayak as I could play in the waves aswell as having a tour round the coast doing a spot of fishing. However, he didn't say anything about second hand kayaks so I may ring tomorrow to see what he has. Speciman, how much would you be looking for for your caper, cash, if I came to pick it up. Is there a price you would be happy to accept and keep the kayak off ebay? A second hand one would be ideal as the price of the new proper fishing kayaks was over £500 kitted out. hello, I've not got much experience of kayaking and would love to have a go after seeing someone paddling about the coast of gower catching tons of fish, whilst I stood on the rocks catching nothing. I have looked up a few kayaks on the internet but have found the angling kayaks are extremely expensive. I was firstly wondering what kayak people would suggest for a beginner like myself, and secondly if anyone knows where I could pick up a last season edition or second hand kayak that may turn out cheaper for me, as around £450 without paddles or hatches or anything is a lot of money. hello all, I am after a good angling kayak, for a beginner as I just want to paddle about the coastline having a bit of a fish. The brand new kayaks are extremely expensive and thats without any extras so I think a second hand kayak would be ideal. I live in south wales so if it were near me that would be great but I would be willing travel if needs be. Thanks very much. Tom
