trip to Penzance next week

I'd like a few tips on marks and tactics in the Penzance area - which I'm visiting next week for a welcome break after 5 months of house renovation. I'd like to do some beach and rock fishing. Also, what's the best tackle/bait shop - for advice as well as bait? Are there still plenty of Bass around? I'm not averse to eating the occasional Plaice either!

Youve got a long trip, its a long way for me and I live in Devon! Sorry cant help with the marks tho.
