Advice Appreciated

Hi all,

my wife and eldest son have been river fly fishing for 2 to 3 of years now and very successfully too. So they can keep their arm in between trips to Scotland and Germany they have decided to join a small stillwater syndicate near home. Can anyone recommend a good book on small stillwater techniques and tactics etc ? Neither has fished still waters before. I am not in a position to teach them very much at all, as stillwater fly fishing is not my cup of tea, excepting Pike, which even then I prefer to pursue on rivers.

 

They know about casting etc, its the knowledge of behaviour, flies, how to find the fish etc etc they need. Both have 9ft #6 outfits etc so their gear is OK as well.

"My way with Trout" Arthur Cove. For small waters his approach of extremely long leaders doesn't really apply but for fly and fish behaviour it's about spot on.
