fox X-pod any good??

Recommended Posts

i had one and flogged it, i thought it was rubbbish. unstable on anything other than level ground, and despite what i read in the ad's seemed to take ages to set up. not cheap either. the x pod plus looks betetr but is even more expensive. since i sold it i havent missed it at all, i just bought some pukka banksticks and use those now.

does chesters know you've nicked his avatar? i wouldnt want to be the one to tell him!

Still got mine, pain to set up though but always found it stable. Banksticks are the other option, then your rod tip is always pointing towards your rig

See my review of the Cygnet DLX pod at http://anglers-net.co.uk/reviews/cygnet-quicklock.htm

As I said In the review, I too hate pods but sometimes they're a neccessary evil.

As for babksticks I've recently bought some brilliant ones made by King's Angling Products. What's special about these is that they have very thin brass points that make sticking them into gravel very easy. I'll be reviewing them when I've fully field-tested them.

I bought a fox Xpod plus, brilliant, easy to set up, very stable, cheap and well worth the money. Have not used the cheaper model (Xpod) so dont no whats its like, although my brother had one and never had any problems. Some other people in the forum have said its expensive, hard to set up, and unstable. I would say this is becausea the lack of knowledge they have towards pods. Worth every penny.
