Pangolin, Just got back from the canal with my son. Its very true what you say. I set up the polaris no trouble, but I wasnt keen on it, I found that I had to keep my rod perfectly still, which was hard as my hand was shaking and the polaris kept twitching about. So I went back to the waggler! Then I started to catch, a "big" roach about 1/2lb and then a cracking perch!then some smaller roach. My son got a wopping roach about a pound and a small pike! He was fishing at the far bank for tench and caught the pike on 4 red maggots...it was a great day
