backleading

hello all, :D

just wondering as no one else does it on the lake i fish is it worth backleading across thick weed :confused:the two top rods this season both with 12 fish dont.whether or not backleads has anything to do with this i dont know :rolleyes:

any comments

Dean, not a good idea to backlead over weed. When you reel in you will be draging your sinker and rig back through the stuff, you'll end up either losing terminal tackle, getting snaged or having to spend time untangling a weedy mess.

 

 

Eat right, stay fit, die anyway.

I wouldn't use backleads over thick weed, not only for the obvious and more important fish safety reasons, but also because it will seriously impare your bite indication.

You have to remember that weed lowers during the hours of darkness and rises towards the light during the daylight hours.
