Any one able to enlighten me on this one ?!!

Was reading the Shimano Linear 2002 pamphlet and they mention it but the way this rig works is not really explained...apparently a Frank Warwick design....... "I know which i'd prefer"

If I remember correctly there was a similar rig around many years ago.

 

This rig was say foot of braid for the hooklength, then you tied a 6 inch length of elastic between the hook and the swivel. This was fished on a heavy lead, get the idea.

Very true Chris, we used pole elastic!
