must both be in good condition.

just that, nothing else like licence or any gear wanted.

sorry peter, I'm just after a wooden sea boat for fishing, and thought that oak on oak would be best.

what's a longshore type when it's at home?

the boat needs to be of good gunnels height say just below the crutch and at least 8ft beam.

as long as there is an inboard, a mizzen sail wouldn't be a bad thing too.

They are certainly around, what with inshore and longshore fleets tying up for good. Longshore boats fish along the shore as opposed to off shore! I'd hit wooden boats for sale on a search engine. I'll keep my eyes open around Lowestoft & Southwold harbours over the next few days. Oak on oak is unusual in small boats.

Iroko on spruce would be more likely.

Oak would tend to split a lot easier than Elm and not have as much give in it.

Oak frames as opposed to spruce ribs would be a bit heavy.

Clarks on Portland would build you one!

If they start talking about mahogany, make sure it is Iroko rather than Utile. It's tougher.

Tell us all how much they quote.

There will probably be lots of variables, though.
