hi tiger lily

are they well in at whitehaven pier

thinking of going tomorow and wundering if going to catch owt

 

we have been getting them south of the south heads,, dozen or so yesterday close in of the beach, so there shouldnt be a problem at whitehaven, plenty of sand eels about so the mack should be shoaling soon though we were picking up odd couples,, if this weather keeps up then we should be in for a early start on them.

Fffffarsends of them in at the top end of the channel, water is quite clear. Can't get down to the bottom sometimes, bass are about as is codling, summer's here so enjoy. B)

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Don't know if you fish from the shore or boat, our skipper at the top end of the channel takes us to a sand bank where they live, all we use are small size two hokkies, jigged up and down while on the drift. Normally the mackerel are with them as well, so you end up with the bass bait and also a feed. I do not use feathers at all as the size two are suitible for both. Small live joey mackerel can be brilliant for bass over the sand banks or wrecks.

 

There is a method using a blunt knife from the shore where the eels live for catching them as bait, it is not anything i have done, someone else may provide the info. Good fishing.
