Penn Senator 1/0

Fellow Anglers.

For about the last 25 years I have used frequently a Penn Senator 1/0 which I bought new, this reel has never let me down, a couple of times in that period it has been back to Penn serviceing at Pershore where Mick has done a great job on it, sending it back with a small fee and as good as the day it came out of the shop.

On one occasion I was off on an extended trip of four days when a leaf spring broke I manufactured one from a sliver of steel cut with scissors from an empty bake bean can.

This in fact stayed in the real for another year and a half., cleaning the real the other night after a trip I got to wondering if any one else still uses that particular model.

Would be interested to hear if any one does.

Regards

Hello Paddy.W i hope you are very well. I never had a 1/0 but i still use a 6/0 and 9/0 on occasions, they are bomb proof and i would never consider getting rid of them as they will last a lifetime. I don't care about being a reel tart (pun) as long as it does the job required and as you intimate they are reliable. The only downside at all is the weight of them compared to newer reels on the market, who cares as as far as i'm concerned they are a mans reel. :D Good fishing to you.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

:D I had a 2/0 and 4/0 for about 30 years and they did me proud all round the world. I did my own servicing and except for the "new" HT100 drag systems I put in them they cost next to nothing to run, in fact, when I sold them I got more than I paid for them, great value. I still have a 349 HC which I used for wire line, strong as they come, had some lunkers on that and I still still have a 25 year old International 50W that's still used occasionally. Great reels . :D
