Nearly all the weymouth boats concentrate on the bass,bream, whiting, codling from marks off portland. Before the spring run of pollack on the wrecks. One bonus stock is the squid fishing in and around portland harbour, that will start soon. Keep an eye on the portland fishing reports.

There are GuiltHead Bream somewhere in Portland Harbour and some mussel beds off the east side of the island where you can catch nice plaice.

Don't ask me where! I get seasick in boats.

Just remembered, some good fishing in front of the harbour entrance where the hood is sunk. Got some nice thornbacks and other specis on me last trip there. There is also conger on the wreck, we have never fished for them, but we do know they are there. More of a winter spot as i heard that divers use that one in the summer. By boat, try and find the wreck of the M2. Well known off portland. Good spot for the winter fishing, again conger on it. I have also heard of good cod being caught off it again in the winter. The charter boats use that one.

Not many, that is the holy grail of angling, i love the place, fished it quite a few times. Loads of conger,good when there are half a dozen coming up at the same time. Nice sized bull huss, the odd tope, porgie shark put in an apperance now and again. On the slack there are very good sized bream to be had. Can only fish it on a low tide due to the amount of tide rushing through. Can't fish it with mono as even with thin braid you will need quite heavy weights to hold bottom. Best to do it with an experianced charter boat ist. Good luck.

The plaice are found approx 3/4 down the length of the Bill and around 1/3 off the shore. The sand banks run parallel to the shore.
