Probably best way to fish waters like this is to find unidentified spots on the bed ie if its a weedy lake try and find a gravel/ silt spot most waters usually have a map showing different areas on the bed of lakes. Find the spot bait it up using pva's would not recomend spodding on waters like this if you use the correct rig system for the conditions of the bed or even try a rig that floats in mid water rather than the bed. Hope this helps good luck

A better approach is to find the fish. So research the water, walk it as often as you can, and see where the fish patrol and ideally where they feed (and at what time). Midweek is generally quieter so try and walk in the week, if for example you want to fish weekends. Keep an eye on weather conditions and if the forecast switches to a new strong wind after a period of calm then that'll be a good time to fish, into the face of the wind. You should also walk the water and locate the fish before fishing, but if you can't spot them then your homework should give you some pointers.

Also learn the topography of the lake bed and as mentioned above, map it out (but remember it will probably change through the seasons and from year to year, sometimes just slightly, other times much more noticeably.

all good advice dont forget the carp there will have favourite spots and these may not be obvius at first glance get to know the water and the fish each water has its own character and that changes with all kinds of factors as already mentioned just find em feed em catch em try to vary your baits if every body is using oilies then try trimming them down to squares or tubes
