Ouse Fishing

Ouse Fisher

Recommended Posts

Hi all, ive just recently started fishing again after a break of about 10 yrs, a friend and i want to TRY and catch as many different types of fish as we can out of the river around St Ives,We have a small boat at stives so Earith to Huntingdon is about our boundaries,

Has anybody got any experience of the local areas?

Does anybody know if Barbel are present on this stretch of the ouse?

Any opinions on fishfinders(is it worth getting one?)

Any info gratefully recieved

Tight lines

Peter

I caught a number of barbel from the weir pool at Hemmingford Grey. Fishing is no longer allowed from the bank there, but you may be able to fish the pool from a boat.

There used to be a lot of good pike and chub there too. The trees over hanging the river where the backwater and river meet was a fabulous chub hole and it was for that swim that I asked Alan Brown to make the rod that was called the Chevin for me. If you do well, please PM me because I sometimes miss posts here.
