fishing Ghana

John - welcome to AN. Glad someone who has actually fished that area was able to respond.

I have found a pretty good solution to deep trolling with lures if you are interested. A small planer board that can be set for depths from 5 to 85 feet in 5 foot increments and is light enough to not feel bad on even fairly light tackle.

I use mine mostly with lures that don't have a large diving lip but that's mostly to ease the strain on my wrists. They are like the rest of me and not nearly as young as they once were. :D

Thanks for the info john

it looks like i will have to stock up on lures .

Just back from a brief day trip and once again only small catfish caught Trolled for a couple of hours and fish live and dead catfish for the rest of the day but not a decent fish spotted. we are now bribimng the locals to catch and photo any decent sized fish they catch just to find out if they are there.

The lake is not rocky at all in the area we fish but is a flooded jungle with trees still in place so it is difficult to troll as each tree also has nets and bamboo pipes attached. neverthelesss you just have to keep going back and maybe one day!!!!

Next trip will be in april with fishfinder so will know more then have also manged two blanks sea fishing as well last week perhaps i just cant fish!!!!!
