Pike fishing in South Yorkshire

I would try the canal in Thorne, opposite the Canal Tavern, some very good double figure Pike have been caught there over the last couple of years mainly to dead baits, and especially in the autumn/winter months. It is also well worth while trying for some excellent winter chub there. You might also try the Delves in Thorne, heats for the National Pike Championships have been held there. Member books cost onlt £7/year for adults £3.50 for Juniors and day tickets are available too. These let you fish the Delves, Stainforth and Keadby Canal and stretches of the Aire and Calder, real value for some excellent fishing.

Dam Flask just past Stannington in Sheffield tends to hold a great deal of pike.

I you fancy slightly further a-field, the Fosdyke in Lincolnshire, cross Dunham bridge, carry on quite a way to a T-junction, turn right (you'll see the Fosdyke) and fish opposite, i think a garage or a little chef. there are some trees on opposite bank

Have a good one.
