Carp on the quiver ?

Feederfisher

Recommended Posts

my local park water i fish holds quite afew carp some big'uns up to about 23lb

i want to start targeting these carp on the feeder rod

i have all my tackle sorted (10lb line 8lb braid hook lenghts etc)

ive just got hold of a 2.5lb carp rod and spod to get a bed of bait down to fish on top of

my main question is what spod mix to use and what to use on the hook:

most of my baits are for bream as still is my main fishing this is what i have:

8/10/12mm white shellfish boiles

8mm hali pellets

10mm strawberry boilies

10mm pineapple boilies

14mm pineapple pellet

6mm soft hookers s-pellet

few overs i use

my question is do i need to get a more Carp bait? i heard fishmeal boilies are good?

i will be useing either a safe lead clip/pva bag setup or a free running lead setup

any advice is welcome

All the above seem like Carp baits to me.

Any thing and everything, there is no one ultimate spod mix for all venues. Pretty much what ever takes your fancy can be used and so the mix may differ alot from one angler to another. I tend to like some fish meal groundbait with hemp, pellet and ground up boilies but sometimes add a whole range of odds and ends.

If you try fish meal boilies and there are plenty of Bream you may end up catching more of them, but if you are not bothered by that they can be a good all round bait.

same sort of thing i have been doing in the evenings after work, and same sort of pond. In a park, about an acre, full of nice carp.

Ive been fishing with a heavy feeder rod and a baitrunner with 10lb sensor and making up a standard bolt rig the same as i would on the carp rods just with a lighter arsley bomb. Ive been using luncheon meat and fruity boilies fished over beds off hemp/corn/pellet and had some good results. Cos im fishing mostly in the evenings and theres not so many about i can afford to fish quite close in and stay quiet and ive been sitting there with fish coming right to the bank. All i move is my eyes :D Good for Tench as well.
