Landing Fish From A Steep Drop

I have to agree a drop net would be the best solution also for returning the fish

Couldn't hook them there and then walk them downstream to a more accessible spot to land them?

Getting them out isn't even the half of it,there is no way you can release a fish safely when it's 9 feet below you.

You can't support it in the flow properly , so unless there is low bank a short walk away ,you've got problems!

Thanks for all the info.

I am thinking of getting a small boat to fish the swim, even using a drop net to land a fish may work o.k. but it may still be hard to release it back into the water safely.

So untill I get the boat it's back to Farlows lake to see if I can nick a winter carp or two from there.
