Have used P.T.F.E tape from the plumbers with success for years

Alive without breath,

As cold as death;

Never thirsty, ever drinking,

All in mail never clinking.

I`ll just get me rod!!!

Funnily enough, I'm just about to do the same to all my Barbel rods theis evening.

Just plain old Humbrol enamel for me, in fire orange.

I do have good tip, which I've discovered for myself this year(apologies if I'm not the first of course).

For night use, I whip on short bits of silicon rubber tube, to hold my isotopes or betalights. Up 'til now, I've used clear. But earlier in the year, during a bright day, I was having problems distinguishing the tips of my rods, when the background was branches and foliage, in between the gaps was bright (but cloudy) sky. The sun was shining off the tips quite brightly and when I put my shades on, it only made it worse. I then stuck a red tip from a crystal inset waggler into each bit of silicone and hey presto, both showed up a treat. It was like using betalights, but for the opposite effect. To darken down the rod tips in the bright light, rather than light them up in the dark.Now I'm replacing all the clear silicone, with red silicone (float rubber, which will have the same effect).

I'll still be able to see the betalights, as they will protrude out of the red silicone.
