I have aquired a Fly Wallet which is stamped inside "J E MILLER NORTHERN ANGLERS DEPOT LEEDS"

I have read that Francis M Walbran was the owner of this shop in New station street and moved to Wellington Street.

I would appreciate any information on this fly wallet as I thought it would have been stamped Walbran.

Many Thanks for the link Ian just had a quick look and it seems like an Aladdins cave of information

on Vintage Tackle I will post back on the forum if I find anything on the fly wallet.

Hi,

John Ernest Miller (1844 ~ 1913) Miller was born in Chelsea and later moved to Yorkshire. Miller was a famous angler, journalist and Middleham businessman who saved Walbran from financial ruin. Miller is J.E.M. in the chapter 'A Fortnights Holiday' in Walbran's Grayling and How to Catch Them.

After Miller saved Walbran's shop from going bust, Walbran **** on him and set up another shop on the same street in Leeds as his original shop, thereby going in direct competition to Miller who was still paying Walbran's bad debts off.
