LEEDS CENTREPIN

Budgie, I've had the same problem, and I use mine with the line coming from the bottom.

What I found was happening was that, using the reel for saltwater fishing, the bearings were rusting slightly and becoming less free running.

Regularly stripping it down, cleaning and oiling, seems to have solved the problem.

I've not had any problems with any of my 3 Leeds caused by regular stripping down.

Leon - I fitted a homemade line guard to my Leeds when I bought it(found the line used to get blown round the back of the reel).

Maybe the plate has got slightly bent although it's hard to see anything wrong. Think I'll give it a good service with the Teflon spray as suggested then try it out on the local mullet this year! atb,

Jim.
